He is announcing between Kansas and Michigan this Thursday.  Michigan currently leads the crystal balls for him by a wide margin.  However, without knowing a thing and reading the article, i would come out of it thinking he will pick Kansas....

He spoke about Kansas first.  Then basically said "...I love the coaching staff and I feel like that school (Michigan) would be awesome too.”.

Maybe i am overthinking, but the way i read it was, Team A is awesome they are great love the coach i can score there, oh and Team B too!.  More noticeably he then stated “I will be his first recruiting class so I still got to see how they play this season.”.

It does not seem he would announce for a team that he still needs to see how they play this season.

Hopefully we win this one, need some momentum in some sport besides baseball!

I read his last quote as a sign he'll sign with Michigan.  He plans to commit to Michigan but may be a soft one given how Michigan plays this season.  If he likes, he'll stay.  If no, he may switch.  If you're picking Kansas it won't matter how Michigan's season goes this year.

"POSTED 6:58 PM, SEPTEMBER 23, 2019, BY STEPHANIE GRAFLAGE AND AP, UPDATED AT 09:15PM, SEPTEMBER 23, 2019

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Kansas received a notice of allegations from the NCAA on Monday that alleges significant violations within its storied men's basketball program.

The notice included multiple Level 1 violations tied primarily to recruiting, lack of institutional control and a responsibility charge leveled against Hall of Fame coach Bill Self.

...

Level 1 infractions are considered the most severe by the NCAA, and often include postseason bans, the forfeiture of wins and championships and the loss of scholarships."

...The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill released findings from an internal investigation that revealed approximately 3,000 students — mostly student athletes — had their grades inflated through sham courses in the school's African and Afro-American studies department over a span of almost 20 years.

Now the NCAA has hit the school with five "Level 1" violations, or "severe breaches of contract" because of that grade-inflation.

The penalties for admitting you committed multiple Level 1 violations are as followed.

"A Division I Committee on Infractions hearing panel could not conclude that the University of North Carolina violated NCAA academic rules when it made available deficient Department of African and Afro-American Studies 'paper courses' to the general student body, including student-athletes," the NCAA's release states.

Stuff will start to leak out this week. I find it a little odd that Evan Daniel's, who has done several interviews with him, changed his pick from UK to foggy. Everyone else went straight to Michigan. I was confident last week but I'm not so much at this point. A guy in the post that is certain he will be a one and done shouldnt be waiting to see how this season plays out, when hes going to be coached by Howard

I always think that it is hard to take much away from these types of interviews.  Todd seems to be playing it close to the vest and you don't always know how the questions were asked.  I assume he was asked about the Kansas visit first, thus why he talked about them right away.  If crystal balls start flipping in the next few days, then it may be a bad sign.

Despite the CB's, any time it comes down to us and Kansas for a recruit, my BPONE kicks in.  They'll do anything and say anything to get kids to go there.  I wonder what slimy answer they came up with when the Todd's asked them about the impending sanctions?

isn't kansas expecting to be the head of the nail that the NCAA is about to hit with major penalties from the FBI investigation involving Adidas?  That should be quite a recruiting headwind.

i mean.. editing!

you don't know the order in which he actually said these things, nor the order in which he was asked. it's to 247's benefit for both fan bases to be guessing, and therefore paying attention, and therefore visiting their site.

so an optimistic read here would be that the author put kansas first in the article, to make you feel exactly how you felt - that kansas has a better chance. this would particularly make sense strategy-wise since michigan has more crystal balls and putting them first would make it feel lopsided towards michigan.
