Now...I Like Pizza As Much As The Next Guy...

But taking up the first hundred or so comments on a post about Harbaugh and the Bears debating Chicago's best pizza is ridiculous. IMO, of course. Given that I did mention pizza in the post heading, I'll recommend Burt's Place. It's in Morton Grove.

Now...about the Bears/Harbaugh "short" conversation it could be:

Bears: Hi Jim, care to talk about the coaching position in Chicago?
JH: Yeah I do but I'm busy now. Can you call back tomorrow morning?

...or...

Bears: Hi Jim, care to talk about the coaching position in Chicago?
JH: No.

So we have spent another million or so words and provided not a jot of additional clarity. I just added an additional hundred or so to the pile.

Seriously though, this whole Harbaugh story is beginning to evolve into COVID "for the love of all that is holy, can't this please just be over already" territory.

It's amazing what can be done with those ingredients. For a simple list it's also amazing to see the range of outcomes depending on the chef.

Pre-pandemic I was in one of the Paco's Tacos locations in Chicago. In a Waffle House sort of way you can sit and watch the cooks. I figured out what their secret ingredient is: salt. One of the cooks emptied about twelve ounces on a few slabs.

Best street tacos I've ever had were carne asada with cilantro and onions on double corn tortillas with a bit of lime and tomatillo salsa at a strip mall in West Palm Beach Florida. I was the only non-Hispanic person there, and there was a line out the door at lunch hour. That told me all I needed to know.

Best pizza on the planet: Royal Pizza, under the El in Brighton Beach, circa 1960-1975. Across the street from Mrs. Stahl's Knishes. Entertainment provided daily by the very crazy old ladies yelling at no one, sometimes losing the argument with that same no one.

Bialys? You had to go under the El in Sheepshead Bay. No crazy ladies there, though.

JH is gonna do what he's gonna do when he's ready to do it. Not any sooner.

Getting crazy about it, trying to rush his "news" is about as useless as trying to hurry my lovely bride along when she's getting dressed for a special occasion. Yeah, just like that ...

I like pizza more than the next guy, and that includes you, o.p.!

...Sucks, because I live in Vermont, and you can't get a decent slice in all of New England. I do make my own pizza, and it's the fucking bomb.
