Note to MGoAnalysts: ESPN All-22 & Skycast available

For those who want to analyze the Alabama game, including MGoComrades Brian, Seth, and Alex, note that ESPN broadcast both the All-22 on streaming and the Skycast on ESPNEWS. Anyone with an ESPN account should be able to get you the All-22, and anyone with a DVR/YTTV can get you the Skycast. More details here.

Watching that all unfold has had me curious: at some point in the past wasn't it common knowledge that players were coached not to field punt returns inside the 10 yard line? Someone had expressed this to me as yes, heels on the 10 yard line and if you need to backpedal to field the punt then you let it go.

It just seems like at some point that was the common practice but now when I watch college ball it seems like punt returners will attempt a catch pretty much anywhere on the field.

I have to say that, in a somewhat perverse way, I'm happy for Jake Thaw. He is a walk on and I believe the only play he was on the field for was that punt. It would have been awful for the young man to have been the "goat" by costing Michigan the game. He does deserve credit for: a) picking the ball up after muffing it, b) staying out of the end zone, and c) most importantly not fumbling when he was crushed at the one yard line.

I'm not sure if All-22 is going to show the trench work or Ben Herbert imprimatur.  Those 360 offensive tackles were not a problem. Tyler Morris' TD was impressive as well and done despite the horse collar.

Edit:  Works pretty well actually- Michigan is just faster, stronger, better... Moar Tyler please!

I was just scrolling around and searching ESPN+ on demand and only see the regular broadcast of the Rose Bowl. I'm sure there is some crazy person out there who recorded every single ESPN broadcast (regular, command center or whatever it's called, all-22, etc. - I think something like 6 total, including Spanish language broadcast).

I just went to watch some highlights and my DVR recorded 5 of the 6 broadcasts on ESPN stations. Just not ESPN3 for some reason, which I was told had the Michigan Radio guys.
