Minny playcalling looking excellent.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:39 PM ^
Minnesota's offense looks a whole lot better against psu than ours did.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:45 PM ^
We gained 417 yards against them, despite a couple of drives being killed by dodgy officiating.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:58 PM ^
Empty yards don't matter if you can't put up points
November 9th, 2019 at 1:01 PM ^
Exactly. I think Staee had about 400 yards against ASU and still lost.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:02 PM ^
Jesus christ we for sure were in position to score 31-35 pts. Players didn't execute/shitty officiating kept ud at 21. They weren't empty yards.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:10 PM ^
Minnesota is cashing in on their opportunities. That's coaching. We make everything harder than it should be.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:18 PM ^
That’s not a coaching. There’s zero way that’s a coaching difference, regardless of however you may feel about our coaches.
A TD came off the board because one of our players couldn’t make a routine catch. Another likely TD came off the board was because of a bogus OPI. Another likely scoring drive came off the board because of an uncalled DPI. That’s around 17 points right there added on to the 21 we had already, and none of it has to do with coaching in terms of cashing in on their opportunities.
You can absolutely say things like being unprepared and taking a timeout on the first play is a result of coaching. But in this case you sound like you’re listing a pretty random issue, and just using coaching as the scapegoat when there’s no apparent correlation.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:19 PM ^
Big players for Minnesota are making the big plays. Michigan isn't as daring as Minnesota is. Michigan has to get that aspect. and that starts with the head, Jim Harbaugh. He has to get that Captain Comeback swagger back. The coaches and team will follow.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:28 PM ^
I’m pretty sure the captain comeback swag you speak of was apparent vs Penn State. To be fair we shouldn’t have had to come back in the first place both due to officiating and due to a few bad plays in the first half.
You just can’t blame Ronnie’s error on Harbaugh. You just can’t.
I do agree that we need to be more daring however.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:53 PM ^
It’s a different game if they called that blatant PI on our 4th & 3 play in the first half. I believe PedoSt scored a TD following that TO on downs. We’re driving and a call there would’ve put us into FG range.
November 9th, 2019 at 2:39 PM ^
Speak brother. Our coaching is not championship quality.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:07 PM ^
How TF is it 'empty yards' if you're working your way toward a tie in the closing minutes? People here will toss out any stupid thing that comes into their heads. It's as if you're all functioning parts of the sorry-ass meme rather than thinking humans. Get a damned life!
November 9th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
I was hoping for a scoreless Purdue-Northwestern. It seemed like a good opportunity for a P00N game.
November 9th, 2019 at 2:37 PM ^
Even better, if Tang had been one of the sponsors of the broadcast it could have been known as “The P00N Tang game”.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
Neither team playing much defense.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:43 PM ^
Just about to say minny defense looking ugly
November 9th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
Minnesota Penn state has been a fun first quarter so far. Flipping between that and Baylor/TCU and OSU/Maryland with the occasional peak at basement dwellers Purdue and NW. Penn state driving again, this one could end up a shoot out.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
Minny looks good early.
Also, good for NW going up 14-0 early on Purdue. NW has had a rough year but theyre not terrrrrrrrible. Although Purdue is down to a Sophmore walk-on at QB. Rough year for them too
November 9th, 2019 at 12:47 PM ^
Just how bad is "terrrrrrrrible"?
NW has lost its last three games by a combined score of 106-6. They've scored 20 points once all year.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:52 PM ^
Youre not wrong. I just remembered they god killed by Windiana, but moreso some injury problems. Theyre also on their 3rd string QB and theyre without Bowser. I just feel bad for them because they did get some votes in the preseason poll and then everything went bad lol
November 9th, 2019 at 1:15 PM ^
On this board, those are called "empty votes".
November 9th, 2019 at 1:17 PM ^
After that bullshit Purdue did to speight which represented their coaches attitude I hope Purdue never wins another game playing football. Same way with Wiscy and their cheap shot shit.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
Purdue already down 14-0 to Northwestern. That is insane.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:43 PM ^
PSU or Minnesota..who are you rooting for and why?
I know a PSU loss helps M, but let's be honest, Michigan has next to no chance to win the division. So, do you cheer for PSU because you want anyone but OSU to win the division? Or, do you cheer for Minnesota because you just can't bring yourself to root for that rape-enabling institution?
I don't particularly care for PJ Fleck, but I will be rooting for Minnesota. The Gophers' success this year is a good story.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
Minny because underdog and chaos. Although as an EMU grad, I also do not care for Fleck
November 9th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
Minnesota, because we need PSU to lose two games
Edit: never mind, egg on my face
November 9th, 2019 at 12:46 PM ^
We would need PSU to lose 3 games. They have head to head on us. They are not losing 3 games. We can't win the division.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:48 PM ^
I stand corrected.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:48 PM ^
If one of those two losses is against the west it’s useless. They would need 3 loses.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:10 PM ^
So your saying there’s a chance?
November 9th, 2019 at 2:45 PM ^
Still downvoted you even with your humbly admitting error. Next time be more careful.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:49 PM ^
Minnesota. Besides the general Sandusky-fueled dislike for PSU, I like to see an underdog program rise up.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
You want Minny to win. You don't want the PSU program catching fire, which they are very close to doing. They can recruit.
You want some James Franklin shadow of doubt always hanging over them.
A loss to Minny and then inevitably at OSU takes the wind out of their sails.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:56 PM ^
This makes sense. I hadn't thought of it that way.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:32 PM ^
The other thing about if Minnesota wins is that it makes it fairly likely that OSU will have the division wrapped up by the time of the Game if they beat PSU. So if you buy into the idea that they won’t play as hard or be more likely to overlook Michigan if there are no division implications, you want Minnesota to win.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:45 PM ^
Ummm yeah, no. There is a psychotic focus on that game that Michigan will never match no matter what OSU's season has turned out like.
November 9th, 2019 at 2:26 PM ^
Yeah no, OSU wants to beat Michgan's ass because it's the game and they're still jockeying for the playoff positioning.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:43 PM ^
Penn states defense sorta looks like they haven't played on the road this year. Also, down Parsons isn't helping.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:48 PM ^
Home field man.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:52 PM ^
Dam Ryan Day is the terminator, executed a perfect onside kick, dude is ruthless, a young Urban?
November 9th, 2019 at 12:55 PM ^
My comment was more based on Minnesota's play so far. I'm not watching OSU.
November 9th, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
I thought I saw that on a TV at the gym, but I couldn’t believe an Ohio State team with a big lead already would waste an onside kick play on a Maryland team they were in the process of annihilating. Small wonder pretty much everyone hates that school. Let’s humiliate Maryland! Why? Who knows? Shades of Woody going for 2 in 1969. Names change, classless approach doesn’t.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
I smell varmint poontang. And the only good varmint poontang is dead varmint poontang I think.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:44 PM ^
So jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet . . .
November 9th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
OSU is just a juggernaut on a different level than everyone else in the Big Ten this year.
Maryland can literally do nothing. You can’t dominate a team more in one quarter.
I hate saying all that. Just happens to be the game I’m watching.
November 9th, 2019 at 12:57 PM ^
Why are you watching it? PSU-Minn is far more interesting.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:00 PM ^
I’m from Ohio and always follow OSU pretty closely to see if there are chunks in the armor. This year they honestly don’t have any. The talent, focus, play calling and execution is just on another level.
Ive always enjoyed watching them lose almost as much as I enjoy watching Michigan win. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s going to happen this year.
November 9th, 2019 at 1:17 PM ^
Chinks?
