Noon games open thread

And we're opening with Dave Pasch, in the booth, without his color man, running down the timeline of Urban Meyer's issues. Talking about off-the-field stuff, clearly putting that out front.

Why did Illinois fire ron zook? Granted he was only winning 6 -7 games a season but is it really that bad when your looking at 2-10 or 1-11 every year for the past 5 years

Big day for me, as I have both alma maters in action in some fairly interesting games: Miami (NTM) vs. Marshall, an old foe, coming up later this afternoon, and Cincinnati taking on the Fightin' Wiltons out in California tonight.

AND, of course, the tilt in South Bend to top it all off.

Is there anything better than college football Saturday?

Haven’t watched much of the TX-MD game, but have caught 2 amazing long throw and catches by TX receivers.  If M could do even a hint of that with Shea and the aging receiving corps watch out  for this offense.

(Also saw one of the MD long TDs but thought that was more of a scheme/blown coverage play than anything great by the players.)

Jamel Dean with a pick for Auburn. He was #processed by OSU years back, being told he wouldn't have a scholarship because he'd never be healthy enough to play D1 football. Looks like OSU could use him in the secondary now. Whoops...

PSU's defense has looked...less than impressive thus far.  It's still early, but a couple of vaunted defenses (MSU, PSU) have looked very unvaunted by moderately-efficient offenses.
