The all-time record for penalty yards by a team in an FBS game is 238. (On only 13 penalties--I'm not sure how that happened.)
State has a chance to break it if they don't lose their discipline in the second half.
October 6th, 2012 at 1:58 PM ^
Any way to look up most personal fouls by one team that wasn't involved in an on-field brawl a la Miami-FIU?
October 6th, 2012 at 2:12 PM ^
I'm going to guess this one:
MOST YARDS PENALIZED, BOTH TEAMS
421—Grambling (16 for 216 yards) & Texas Southern (17
for 205 yards), Oct. 29, 1977

This is Indiana, fergodsakes.
October 6th, 2012 at 1:51 PM ^
Have some faith Don, you have to believe that State is going to have atleast 3 more sparty no moments!
October 6th, 2012 at 2:24 PM ^
I don't doubt that at all. It's just that I think Indiana will have about 15 Hoosiers No! moments in the fourth quarter. If they don't, then either they're better than I thought they'd be, or MSU is sort of a train wreck right now. Or a little of both.

Although I would tend to agree, as you said, this is Indiana fergodsake. What I am impressed with thus far, is the way that IU's defense is handling the screen game to Bell that MSU is trying hard to get going. Seems like every time they try it, an IU defender is right there to hit Bell instantly -- that is good coaching/preparation. At the same time, that just goes to show how anemic MSU's offense is as that is pretty much all that they have, and IU knows it.
If MSU's defense cannot stop IU's offense, I don't see MSU offense being able to bring them back.
We'll see.

EMU had total of 4 yards of offense in 1st quarter but only down 3-0.

Love the halftime's breakdown of Tom Gholston getting owned by Braxton Miller
October 6th, 2012 at 1:56 PM ^
I watched Indiana handle UMASS and nearly come back against Northwestern. This team and their offense is not to be overlooked and clearly Sparty thought this would be a cupcake. To Indiana credit, most of the spartan defenders got injured and now IU can attack their secondary.
Looks like the lost last week has them still down. If they don't win this game their B1G title hopes are over.

Dion Sims hurt? No Sparty NO!
October 6th, 2012 at 2:02 PM ^
Is that what an air cast looks like?
October 6th, 2012 at 2:03 PM ^
Ziploc bag filled with ice? Not quite.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:04 PM ^
How does a kicker ever boot it out of bounds. I just don't understand that.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:06 PM ^
October 6th, 2012 at 2:07 PM ^
Indiana really should have made the stop there.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:08 PM ^
Keep hitting Maxwell
October 6th, 2012 at 2:08 PM ^
Yeah I just Bell was stuffed on that 4th and 1. Tough play.

Gholston is a furry confirmed
October 6th, 2012 at 2:12 PM ^
Penn State's not looking half bad.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:13 PM ^
It took the Spartans nearly five minutes to get three points. If they can keep up that pace (and Indiana can keep playing at least serviceable defense) and Indiana scores at least one more time, MSU loses, I would say.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:14 PM ^
So I read on RCMB that they now call Indiana fans Home Depot Hoosiers. I hate their fan base.

Indiana just punted. I knew it - Dantonio sacrificed a body part during halftime to get the win. FML.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:16 PM ^
that Hoosiers will implode in 2nd half, but I'm so glad they're giveing sparty fits
October 6th, 2012 at 2:18 PM ^
October 6th, 2012 at 2:21 PM ^
I think the run-heavy offenses speed up the game a fair amount too.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:20 PM ^
Man Burbridge looks pretty good... Where's Arnett (probably stupid question)?
October 6th, 2012 at 2:22 PM ^
Eh it's Indiana.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:27 PM ^
Great point.

HIs arm is strong, but his OL is terrible and he is terrible under pressure. With a year of experience, he looks like he actually could be pretty decent.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:37 PM ^
I've seen Maxwell turf a lot of balls.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:40 PM ^
October 6th, 2012 at 2:22 PM ^
Sparty's OL looks HORRIBLE! IU's DL living in the backfield.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:22 PM ^
Every time i'm about to go walk the dog Indiana does something good.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:27 PM ^
October 6th, 2012 at 2:24 PM ^
This Indiana offense is the anti-Borges.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:25 PM ^
I would say Indiana needs to score atleast one more touchdown to win this.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:26 PM ^
Man that team gets down the field fast.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:27 PM ^
EMU losing 17-7 at halftime. EMU offense has looked poor. EMU offense had only 16 yards of offense this half if you take out 68 yard TD run.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:29 PM ^
Bell hurt now..
October 6th, 2012 at 2:29 PM ^
Bell shaken up, Sims out -- Hoosiers putting a whoopin' on Sparty physically.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:30 PM ^
MSU is fucked if Bell is hurt.
October 6th, 2012 at 2:30 PM ^
And now Burbridge is officially an MSU receiver.
