Nico Collins says nice things about Harbaugh. Taylor Lewan? Not so much.
Posted without much comment from me other than the obligatory "consider the source" disclaimer. Lewan gave an interview today to Brandon Brown (and yes I know he's no favorite around here either) where he had some very harsh words about the state of the program today and what he thinks Michigan needs to do to fix things.
"Taylor Lewan thinks Jim Harbaugh should be gone" and he pretty much goes in from there. He's definitely not a fan that's for sure.

Before I knew about his right wing nutso politics a few years ago, I use to watch Steve's break down of the games and thought they were OK but learning about him tuned me out quick Spaeth use to evaluate games with him.

Seriously though - why do most schools have reporters covering the team that, you know, actually LIKE the team while Michigan has douchebags like three amigos listed above. Down here in Ohio interviews with anybody associated in any way with the Buckeyes sound like Chris Farley interviewing Paul McCarthy on SNL many years ago.

When you refer to reporters who like Michigan, I guess maybe you haven't considered the reporters on this very popular website. And, anyway, reporters at traditional news outlets aren't supposed to be fanboys. Otherwise it's the sports equivalent of state media/Fox News.

I'll never get over how janky his backgrounds in literally every video he does look. We all know the school had to issue a press release explicitly denouncing him and barring his access to the program, but it's still funny seeing him try to glom onto any sense of credibility.

On January 8, Harbaugh's new contract was announced by UM.

Here's what Brandon Brown did at MGoBlog:
He interviewed random 2-star recruits who were like, "Yeah, I would love to be offered by Michigan because my grandpa has an ex-girlfriend who used to live in Dearborn for three weeks, and my best other offer is Southeast Key West State University."
Eventually that kid would commit to SKWSU and we would never hear from him again.

He also claimed to have a fool proof method of predicting whether a recruit was going to commit to Michigan, that this fool proof method predicted that DeShawn Hand would commit to Michigan, and then when he committed to Alabama he claimed the fool proof method still worked, he just hadn't read it correctly. I think that was the moment the board turned on him and he mysteriously vanished like the victim of a mob hit a short while later.

He also offers nothing remotely tangible. He talks about how he lost to MSU, how RR didn't win. Lewan admits he can't coach and doesn't know how to develop players.

Taylor Lewan - who never was coached by Harbaugh - is saying harsh things about Jimmy. Said opinions match quite closely to what many on this board - who also were never coached by Harbaugh - were saying just last month. It is amusing that somehow, though Lewan is agreeing with those opinions, is a piece of trash for having them simply because he was never coached by Harbaugh. Now we all can agree that Taylor is not a very respectable fellow in many ways but on this topic, he is merely part of the echo chamber.

Both people are allowed to hold their opinions, and it's well established around here that most people have a pretty low opinion of Lewan. But I would say that a guy who was coached by him for 3 years probably knows a bit more than a guy who never got coached by him and, my guess, has never had a sustained conversation with him, if any.

He also sounds a little jaded that the guys he did play for were sort of looking over their shoulder because the fan base was calling for Harbaugh to come home as the savior. Seems to me like he only looks at the win/loss record and is riding with his coaches who had to listen to the "bring Jim home" from the fanbase while they struggled.

I gave this a good faith effort to read but gave up when Lewan cited Dantonio’s success vs RR and Hoke when Lewan was at UM as evidence that Harbaugh sucks.

Yeah, hard to take his word for Harbaugh being a poor coach when he never played under Harbaugh. I suppose he is just frustrated about not beating OSU and not winning B1G championships. But most of us are realistic, that nothing will change until they expand the playoffs. The top 4 to 5 teams in the country will always get the top recruits and unfortunately for us, OSU is one of these teams.
