NFL/Lions Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

Alright, the pregame shows are about to start. Trying to do what we did last week (so we can make it a habit), and as FormerlyAnonymous says and make it inclusive for the whole day's NFL action, with an obvious emphasis on the Lions. But also open to your favorite team for out of towners, and any Michigan player chatter.  Catch a little pregame, and then I'm turning on Redzone.

I have a deep hatred for NFL roughing the passer rules.  I wish they'd just go all the way and outlaw any hit to the qb.  Put a flag on him, make it two-hand touch, whatever.  The way it is now, they just make defensive players play scared around the qb, and it hurts the game.

Pretty soon, they'll be banning sacks altogather. They need to change the blow to the head rule to make sure there is a clear downward violent motion to call it. Because every time I see that penalty called, it seems unwarrented. Total BS.

The announcers and that Mike Pereira douche still thought it was a close call. I don't understand how it was even in question that it wasn't a catch after last week. I don't understand how they thought it was more of a catch than Calvin's last week. Doesn't make any sense and that rule needs to be reassessed.

would have survived the afternoon had he not overturned the call of complete.  The crowd would have been on the verge of a riot, and Schwartz would have been in a murderous rage.

You sassy, tricksters,

trying to entice me with a fleeting show of competence.

I hear your siren-call, pulling at the heartstrings of my fandom.

But I remember the lessons of my mother,

fool me once, shame on me,

fool me 917 times, shame on YOU!
