what did this person tweet about before this ?
December 26th, 2014 at 6:28 PM ^
post's on thosewhostay on mgoboard. Brian said he was possibly legit, more than most. anyway, he must have gotten in trouble by his source so he deleted his account because of specific information released.
December 26th, 2014 at 6:33 PM ^
Thanks, I know what he's been saying regarding the coaching search, just wasn't Sure what his deal was previously
December 26th, 2014 at 7:38 PM ^
There was another guy on Twitter who threatened @those whostay7 with legal threats, so he deleted his account.

What were the legal threats about?
December 26th, 2014 at 8:10 PM ^
That was just an angry teenager trying to prove his claim as #1 internet insider.
Plagiarism is one thing, but this guy was saying that the information being tweeted was his just reworded. Threatening legal action is laughable. You can't own information or an idea.
December 26th, 2014 at 11:45 PM ^
I'll have to look for the tweets, they were tweeting so fast and I was working where I couldn't keep up with the dialogue

but I was under the impression that the legal threats were from his source.

Late to the party or just unfunny?

Doesn't make sense that he'd be at the game before his presser, but maybe?

he could sign Tuesday...go to the game and then do the official presser on Wednesday.
However I don't see why he wouldn't announce Monday and have a presser on Tuesday before the game.

Would sending Jim Hackett a New Years gift be unpalatable? Seriously what do we owe this guy?
December 26th, 2014 at 8:32 PM ^
Hackett for President?
December 26th, 2014 at 6:23 PM ^
Smart kid.
December 26th, 2014 at 6:41 PM ^
This is my favorite gif from the search process. Just wanted to get that out there.

And mainly because I assume that's what Harbaugh looks like when he's making the flight. I also assume he's wearing that hat.
December 26th, 2014 at 9:31 PM ^
Me too. It's the official icon of the 2014 coaching search as far as I am concerned.
Whoever created it, take a bow.
December 26th, 2014 at 6:26 PM ^
Great, new information that everyone already knew. Now we are going to give this guy unwarranted credibility.
December 26th, 2014 at 7:05 PM ^
Who cares? Harbaugh.

December 26th, 2014 at 7:06 PM ^
Not implying that Harbaugh cares. Just...Harbaugh.

Brian thinks this guy has credible info because it lines up with what he hears and that's good enough for me. Maybe this guy is a high schooler, but that doesn't mean what he says isn't true
December 26th, 2014 at 7:47 PM ^
You're a troll. Man, I kept thinking you were just the biggest downer on the board but now I get it. Well played. You didn't come in strong like a lot of trolls do. You kept it cool, didn't go too negative too quick, just threw out pissy little comments like you were a grumpy old man who was new to the internet.
Those stupid comments you left on the Beveled Guilt page were genius they were so non-troll like. We all bit and started arguing with you. But then I saw this comment and it gave you away. But you were able to hide better than most trolls.
Well done, now go delete this profile and start a new one so we can play this game again.

I went full troll. Never go full troll.

ESPN might want to pick it up just for the halftime show.
December 26th, 2014 at 6:30 PM ^
It's on ESPN2 as of now.

We've got a new Michigan bar in Brooklyn and I may pop in to watch it and risk crying in public.
December 26th, 2014 at 6:31 PM ^
And what does he do?
December 26th, 2014 at 6:55 PM ^
It is not a TUUUUUUMER!
December 26th, 2014 at 6:31 PM ^
Brian is thosewhostay7.
December 26th, 2014 at 6:35 PM ^
So they will announce it at the bball game? No introductory press conference before the game?

Man, you STILL doubtin thosewhostay7/maizeandblue14?!?!
Or are you just a guy with a lot of questions?
December 26th, 2014 at 7:27 PM ^
My guess is announced public Monday. Signs Tuesday, presser at noon, game at night for introduction to university as whole.

Why would they announce anything before he signs?
I was under the impression that he already signed.
December 27th, 2014 at 12:01 AM ^
is that JH will sign in San Fran before he ever sets foot in his new/old home state? Then from there it will all be semantics. Whatever will happen will happen...
Go Blue!
December 26th, 2014 at 10:25 PM ^
The game is on at 3:00 in the afternoon.
December 27th, 2014 at 3:05 AM ^
What's up with that? It's a Tuesday, and not New Year's Eve. Do a lot of people get New Year's Eve's Eve off from work or school or something?

I never thought they'd be able to top the Chinese uni cyclist who flipped the glass bowls on her head, but this might just do it

Nothing is signed yet and the Raiders ( and the rest of the NFL) has from the final whistle on Sunday until Tuesday to comply with the Rooney rule and offer Harbaugh 50 Million dollars and total control.
My buzz has been harshed.
December 26th, 2014 at 6:55 PM ^
Can talk to Harbaugh unless SF gives permission. He is under contract still.
December 26th, 2014 at 7:05 PM ^
Wouldn't the "under contract" thing prevent him from signing at Michigan too?
If SF fires him on Sunday (as has been rumored) isn't it open season?
If he quits, wouldn't Michigan have to buy him out? Assuming we are buying him out, couldn't an NFL team step in and make SF an offer to get permission to talk?
I honestly have no idea how this works. I am more than willing to be corrected and return my buzz to it's unharshed status.
December 26th, 2014 at 7:17 PM ^
It has been pointed out many times on this board that NFL rules prohibit any other NFL team from contacting a coach while he is under contract with another franchise. The rules say nothing about NCAA member institutions.
Baalke mentioned this week that Michigan has "done it the right way", which many have taken to mean that they sought a favorable outcome for all parties (the league notwithstanding). Michigan didn't have to buy out Harbaugh's contract, but likely has in order to use it's leverage as an NFL outsider to maximum effect. It appears to have worked.
December 26th, 2014 at 7:50 PM ^
Your speculation seems right to me.
But I also think the 49ers could give permission to another NFL team to talk to him, especially if they pay or give up a draft pick. (I have no idea if a team would do so.)
Even if Michigan has negotiated an exclusive right to talk to him, that wouldn't matter if another team offered more.
This all assumes that Davis would follow the rules and not try to screw the 49ers.
December 26th, 2014 at 8:42 PM ^
they wouldn't wait until the final few hours to give him permission to talk to another team. If Oakland was going to trade for Harbaugh, why wouldn't they have a deal in place already? It would be in both team's best interests.
Tampering is a very big deal. These leagues don't take kindly to owners breaking the rules to screw another owner.
December 26th, 2014 at 8:43 PM ^
NFL tampering rules prohibit another team from requesting contact with a head coach under contract during the season. NFL teams would have to make such a request as soon as Sunday's game is over.
