I really could give a shit. But yes the #102 school in the nation is a shitty school. And when you claim to want to go to Med School and want to combine athletics and academics FSU should not be at the top of the pile. I don't care if I get a million negative points. Do I really have to go digging through Brian's posts that said "FSU REALLY DAH FUCK" to prove my point.

Are you really so arrogant and stupid you can't accept the idea a school might be very good at one thing and not so good at another? Or that it's more about what you, as an individual, push yourself to achieve than what your school is ranked? FSU, in Rolle's opinion, was the best place to achieve his goal of being a Rhodes Scholar. And, I'll be damned, he did it. So what's your point? Quit being butt-hurt he picked FSU over Michigan and deal with reality.

And people make stupid decisions that work out great all of the time. Why are we praising him for making a stupid decision that just happened to work out? Why not praise the guy who drove home drunk but didn't get a DUI. Hey it worked out for the best and it was a poor decision. Why not congratulate the kid who decided to drop out of high school to make it as an actor or an artist or whatever. Just because he achieved his goals doesn't mean that he made the right decision and lied about it in the process. FSU = #102 in US News ranking and a top 25 Program If he REALLY wanted the best of both world's he could have and should have gone to Miami (that Miami), OSU, Michigan, Florida, etc etc etc. Florida is an awful school and congratulations are in order to him for achieving his goals but that doesn't mean that you need to slobber on his nob.

You have GOT to be fucking kidding me. Comparing Rolle working his way to a Rhodes Scholarship to a guy who drives drunk and makes it home? You are being fucking ridiculous. Rolle worked his ass off to get what he has. He didn't luck into it. Why do you give a flying shit where he did it? Oh, right, because it wasn't Michigan. Sorry.

http://mgoblog.blogspot.com/2005/09/football-recruiting-board-updated.h… Editorial Opinion FSU? Um... okay. I'd like to reference my recruit-to-English translation guide: "Academics are extremely important to me" - I don't care about academics in the slightest. "No, seriously, the academic reputation of a school is critical in my decision making." - My mom is in the room. Further proof that academic reputation means nearly zero to anyone looking at a potential NFL career--and that those it really means something to go to Stanford anyway. Not that Rolle is a bad guy or FSU is a bad place to go. Clearly I'm not alone in this thinking that FSU is a premier institution of higher learning *snicker*

Bouje, if you read about his recruitment, you'll find that while Michigan was telling him about their bachelors of general studies, FSU was showing him how they could help him become a Rhodes scholar. It was a blantant mistake on michigan's part, as they pretty said "whatever" to his stated goal. FSU clearly remained true to their word. You, on the other hand, have repeatedly demonstrated yourself to be one of the most stupid and unjustifiably arrogant posters on this site. And this is the dumbest battle you've fought yet. That's impressive.

The difference between then and now is the fact that HE WON A FUCKING RHODES SCHOLARSHIP. He wouldn't have done that here. Do you know why? Because we wanted him to major in zoology or some shit so we could be sure he'd stay eligible. He made the right choice, you fucking retard.

Comparing me to the likes of Bluefront and Mcfarlin because I said that the #102 school is a shitty school... Wow... Congrats to Rolle for getting his Rhodes Scholar. I'm tired of this shit. FSU is the best school academically in the nation and Myron Rolle chose the best school throughout his recruitment. My original post I completely withdraw because of it's stupidity and clearly incorrect opinion about the greatness of FSU. All Hail Seminole Nation! Chop Chop Chop!

The part that bums me out is that bouje will likely just open an account under a new name so that he doesn't negative elleventy billion points, and we'll just think he's some other noob. Look for someone with a join date of somewhere around 2009-7-22 or so. Be a man bouje, don't do that.

I think it's pathetic that no matter what I said throughout this thread people just down-pointed me... Here is what else I wanted to say in my above post But I won't. And the thing that is really going to suck is that you guys won't ever let me live this down. And that's fine. We'll see if the internet ever really forgives and forgets or if whenever I post anything if I'll just get downgraded because of my opinion of Rolle and FSU. We will see if YOU POSTERS have integrity to just actually down-point people for posting stupid shit or if you'll just mob people just for being "bouje" or "mcfarlin" or whoever.

I didn't down vote all of your posts for being "bouje"
I down voted them because I wanted to downvote you 100 times for the first thing you said but I am only allowed to once per comment.

It's not that you said FSU is a bad school. It's that you said it's a bad school for Myron Rolle when he's become a RHODES SCHOLAR there. It's also your appealing to the US World Report's numbers to prove your point and then disregarding them completely and naming OSU the worst academic school in the Big Ten while simultaneously pointing to OSU's academic ranking and exclaiming at how that proved how bad a school FSU is. FWIW I appreciate your never say die attitude.

in the Big Ten and so I used USNWR to show how bad the "worst" school is in the Big Ten... I saw when I posted that there were several other Big Ten schools below OSU but I thought "Nah it's common knowledge that OSU is the worst school in the Big Ten they'll understand" but no I get torn a new one saying that I can't read lists and that I'm a fucking retard. I've said all along FSU is not a good school and it was the incorrect choice for Myron Rolle and that Rolle would have been an NFL player AND a Rhodes scholar at other schools such as Florida and Michigan. Which are much better combinations of Athletics and Academics

Maybe that's because you've proven that you can't read and that you ARE a fucking retard? Your own nominal judgement of FSU is an insufficient argument. Your points have all been refuted with cold facts throughout this ordeal. You've been told, repeatedly, that Michigan did not take his pursuit of a Rhodes scholarhsip as seriously as Florida State. You also are unaware that FSU paces UF in quite a few fields lately(and I say this as a UF attendee right now). Also also, FSU and Michigan have been a wash on the football field the past few season. And Florida was not quite Florida yet when Rolle committed. The crux of your argument is that FSU is "not a good school," and people have ripped you a new one because that's "not a good argument." It's all rather simple, and you've made it worse by finding it necessary to defend yourself to the death as if this thread is your Alamo. Get a fucking grip on life, compadre.

As the poster below pointed out, Rolle was not FSU's first Rhode's Scholar and actually he wasn't even their first student athlete to receive the Rhode's Scholorship. If I'm not mistaken, there was a Track and Field Athlete (Garrett Johnson) who received the scholorship a few years ago and was a mentor of sorts to Rolle while he was at FSU. They sold him on the fact that others before him have done the same thing and listed out a plan on how he would accomplish his goals. Also, he wants to be a brain surgeon and FSU has a great school for that as well. So yeah I believe there was a lot that went into Rolle chosing FSU and it seems like they did a good job of selling to him as well.

And if he won a national championship and was drafted in the top 5 of the NFL draft after attending Bowling Green, you would say that he had a successful time there because he accomplished his goals, yes? It's not like Rolle is still hoping to be a Rhodes Scholar, he IS a Rhodes Scholar. He has achieved his dreams, and if you care so much about his situation, then you should be incredibly happy for him

Believe it or not, football coaches do care a lot about the grades of the players they are recruiting. Not only do players need to qualify initially through the NCAA clearinghouse, but they need to stay eligible while in school. Keep in mind that many of the top football programs are good to excellent academic schools, this is certainly a concern. Knowing that a kid has a 3.8 in high school implies that this is one kid that the coach (likely) won't have to worry about academically.

Barry Obama will fix that. Soon we will have government run high school recruiting rankings. You'll get a +1 if you are hispanic, +2 if you are white (since they are the minority in college football) and +3 if you are an illegal alien. Everyone must prescribe to the ranking service as well. It will be taken out of your paycheck. The amount will be determined by what your income level is. A czar will be appointed with the title of "High School Recruiting Ranking Czar" to oversee this process. He will be payed at least $1 million per year.
