The current rankings determined that was a lie

Did we ever figure out the upvote/downvote thing?? I've been gone from this blog for the most part because of 20 credits this semester. I vaguely remember a thread saying it was fiixed, but I haven't noticed any change.
How am I supposed to start a thread when my points were taken away?? More importantly, how am I supposed to know which comments are Harbaugh and which comments suck?? I am lost.
Yes I realize this has nothing to do with O'Maury Samuels. I enjoy transitioning to another topic by saying "Speaking of (previous topic)." Which I figure won't go over as well on this blog as it does in real life, but the question needed to be asked!
EDIT: I GUESS YOU HAVE TO POST A COMMENT TO SEE THE UPVOTE/DOWNVOTES BECAUSE I SEE THEM NOW SORRY GUYS BYE
taking less than 20 credits, there, Pal. It was just too much.
it's been fiiiiixed for awhile now! Hat tip on the 20 credit thing, that's a helluva load but kudos if you can handle it.
Underrated!
This works on so many levels

No long a Sleeper of the Year candidate?
April 27th, 2016 at 11:48 AM ^
I guess that goes to AJ Dillon now.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:29 AM ^
Intersting...Only 11 5 Stars on that list.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:44 AM ^
They always start out with a handful of five-stars, then award more as the year goes on to build up hype.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:49 AM ^
I don't know if building hype is the main goal. I think one reason is to have more time to evaluate prospects to see who emerges from the pack. It's also a whole lot easier to add a star than it is to remove one. If you name 30 kids as 5-stars and by the end of the cycle, 25 of those names have changed, you have some upset kids/parents/coaches/fans. It's better to be safe and maybe remove 3-5 of those names down the road rather than 15-25.

Very astute point.
April 27th, 2016 at 12:02 PM ^
cogent.

erudite
Pertinent
It is better to be underrated than overrated.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:04 AM ^
For better or worse, ESPN has always tended to rate fewer guys as five stars than the other services. They only had nine 5* guys in the 2016 class.
They always stick to the motto the 5-stars should be rate talents, which I like and agree with.

I'm quite happy that Michigan has five players from the list and Sparty only has one. Unfortunately, OSU has already bought 11 from the list and are far ahead in the class rankings for now. Are they even pretending to be clean anymore?

A few top 100 notables...
Isaiah Wilson @ #2
Najee Harris @ #4
Dylan Moses @ #6
DPJ @ #12
Joshua Kaindoh @ #18
Tederrell Slaton @ #27
Stanford Samuels @ #40
Cesar Ruiz @ #88
April 27th, 2016 at 10:41 AM ^
Out of all those players, there is a legit shot at all of them except Harris and possibly Samuels. 2017 could end up being another monster.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:47 AM ^
Not much of a shot at Moses either.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:51 AM ^
As of right now, you're probably right. However, since there is a long way to go in recruiting this class, including a chance to potentially put together a special season on the field, I feel that there may still be an outside shot.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:24 AM ^
Yes, but the exact same could be said about the two recruits you said we don't have a real shot for. If we still have a chance to get involved with Moses, why do you think we don't with Samuels (we have his former coach on staff) or Harris?
M will have a shot with Samuels and DPJ, but slightly a better shot with DPJ.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:05 AM ^
Debbie Downer! :P
Not much of a shot at Moses either.
Herod lived waaaaaaay after Moses.
did he ;)
The timing of this message is amazing.
Unless Herod had a time machine and was masquerading as a Pharoah...

Ambry Thomas @ #243 trending to MSU
Jaylen Kelly-Powell @ # 246 trending to the good guys
Corey Malone-Hatcher @ #254 trending to the good guys
In total, 7 ESPN 300 from Michigan.
2 committed to Michigan, and 2 trending our way
1 committed to MSU, 1 trending their way
1 unknown (DPJ)
April 27th, 2016 at 10:48 AM ^
Ambry Thomas is actually looking more like 50/50 or better to Michigan. The coaches have been doing a lot of work in Detroit.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:39 AM ^
And he was thought to be leaning MSU before so he's actually "trending" to Michigan
April 27th, 2016 at 12:07 PM ^
I just did a quick 247 crystal ball watch, and saw he's 50% MSU, 50% cloudy.
April 27th, 2016 at 12:57 PM ^
with Jaylen Kelley-Powell and that should have a positive impact if we get JKP in the class as expected according to Sam Webb
April 27th, 2016 at 11:06 AM ^
Would be nice to keep Top Tier In-State Talent both IN-State, as well as away from MSU.
April 27th, 2016 at 12:01 PM ^
Drew Singleton is at #125
Fred Hansard is at #141
good look. 5 star QBs can have that effect.
I haven't heard a lot with him trending anywhere in the state. No CBs have come in for him since June of last year.
is very underrated at #243. Many believe he was the best King player last year, even with Hill and Corley on the team.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:30 AM ^
and Ruiz. Getting all 3 would be a huge coup though but not out of the possibility with - Harbaugh. He needs to start booking the sleepovers early.
Considering the lack of depth on the OL and missing out on a few OT prospects last year, I would agree.
We can easily (relative to their other options) get all 3.

Every time I scrolled down there was another block O, shit. We really need a win in Columbus this year.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:42 AM ^
And the year after that, and the year after that, and the year after that ad infinitum. In Harbaugh we trust, amen.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:47 AM ^
both in recruiting and on the field. As well as Harbaugh has done recruiting, Meyer is just on another level.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:58 AM ^
2017 is the only year that OSU is looking like a recruiting juggernaut. With classes of 25+ they were 4th in 2016, 7th in 2015, and 3rd in 2014 on the 247 composite. Very good but both Alabama and LSU have been ahead each year. Certainly not unbeatable and this 2017 class won't have a big impact on the field for another 2 seasons. There's certainly time for Michigan to catch up before then.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:02 AM ^
They might put 6 kids in the first round this year, a quick scroll down that top 300 list shows a osu in another league recruiting right now.
April 27th, 2016 at 11:29 AM ^
As he said. 2017 is the only year.
They have had very good recruiting classes over the past few years. But they aren't even on the recruiting level of Alabama or LSU. It's hard to call them a juggernaut.
For comparison's sake, Michigan has also had very excellent recruiting classes despite being about a .500 team since Carr retired. Our recruiting potential only goes up with a top notch head coach that has a national name, and increased wins.
Michigan isn't far behind Ohio State in terms of recruiting as it is. It's not unrealistic to believe that better results as a result of better coaching will bring in even better recruits.
