nbadraft.net Says Darius Morris Probably Gone

"We're hearing Michigan sophomore PG Darius Morris http://bit.ly/iaxjk0 is leaning towards remaining in this year's draft"
not good.
Ed: Changed title to clarify
NOOOOOO
I've heard the opposite, that if he gets a first round grade he'd lean towards being back because of the possibility (probability) of a lock-out in the NBA.
wait, you think that if he gets a first round grade he's likely to come back, but if he gets a second round grade he's likely to leave?
No, sorry, if he gets a 2nd round grade he's coming back.
when do they get their grades from the nba committee?
The deadline is coming up in a week to declare, so I'm sure he already has his grade.
The evaluations were supposed to be completed by April 18, according to a March 28 annarbor.com story:
The committee of NBA player personnel experts will inform draft prospects by April 18 if they are likely to be a lottery pick, a first-round pick, a second-round pick or go undrafted.
Unless he has a first round promise from someone (doubtful); this is a really bad move. He should really come back 1 more year and shore up those areas of his game.
I'll believe it when he says it himself.
I'll believe it when he uses his left.
What does everybody mean by "use his left". Is it shooting with his left hand?
We would love it if Darius would shoot with his left hand from time to time.
Unless he gets a promise to go in the first round. Getting drafted in the second round is worse than being a free agent.
Time to fire up the Rainbow Unicorn Panic Button again...
It's working now.
Whoa! All the blue tones on the screen turned pink when I clicked on that thing.
Same thing happened to me on the iphone app
More unicorns at Cornify
We need some good news around here. I think he is throwing his hat in the ring more so to get an evaluation of what he needs to work on for next year. There is no way to guarantee he will go in the 1st round no matter what he is told.
I'll see your "panic" and raise you a "don't panic".
But I find it unlikely. Is it possible that he's trying to see if anyone's perceptions change if he talks more like he's coming out rather than staying? Some people might view a prospect differently if they're sure they can't get him anyway.
so long as he doesn't hire an agent.
Exactly. I think this is the key. No agent = coming back.
Everyhting I've read has his brother pushing him into the draft. If he goes, so be it, Mr. Burke, cmon down.
That link doesn't say anything like that...
I don't see it anywhere. Is there a direct link to what you're talking about, op?
if you're not on twitter it probably won't work yet. i cut and paste the tweet. it's still there.
The twitter link is all there is. The link within just goes to his profile.
How can he remain in the draft if he hasn't yet declared for the draft? As far as I understood it he's only asked for an evaluation of his draft status.
AFAIK, in order to receive an evaluation of your draft status, you technically need to enter the draft. This is fine as long as you don't hire an agent. He then has until May 8th to withdraw or he'll lose his college eligibility.
I won't believe anything like this unless someone with credibility can be attributed to the quote. When you look at their mock draft, they don't have Morris in the top 60 taken. Yet, on their Top 100 player rankings, (by someone named Aran Smith), Morris is ranked 49th.
But, I could give a crap about these rankings. Morris needs at least one more year in college to work on his game. He isn't ready for the NBA. Hopefully, all this is needless panic.
Huge fan of D-Mo, but two words come to mind: Marcus Taylor.
Darius should really stay and work on his shot and his left handed dribbling.
That sucks
Good luck to him on his NBA Career.
He is now...

We'll see if he stays. I don't think any of us really have an idea what he'll do anymore. If he does leave then we'll find a way to deal. It will probably involve double or triple the minutes Trey Burke would have gotten...
If he gets decent information, he should go. The NBA draft is all about potential and he's riding high now. Manny Harris probably should have left after his sophomore year riding the wave of the NCAA trip. I can't imagine his junior year did anything but hurt him. If you have the chance, take it, because it might not be there next time.
...get rid of the rainbows & unicorns? They won't go away.
Either that or they last until you refresh the page. 50/50.
Mine won't go away after refresh...damn that 50/50

I really hope he stays for the sake of Michigan basketball and for his own personal development. I know it is him own choice, but I really hope he stays.
I don't understand why so many good players leave early for the draft. I don't get why people don't want to stay at their school and create a legacy. To be remembered at a school and not just remembered as a good player at a school. This isn't to mention the college days are the best part of many peoples lives. When good players stay for their remaining years they could do some great things there and could be remembered for it. Maybe my mentality is a little different than most, in that its not all about the money but for the legacy and tradition as well.
