My plan for a 17.5 team B1G and to save college football as we know it [Drinking Thread]
Sorry, I’m still working out the kinks. I just can’t figure out what to do with a .5 Rutger.
In the meantime, what are you drinking, smoking, and/or eating tonight?
wunderground said it was 105 degrees with a ‘feels like’ temp of 132 here today. So I’m staying hydrated with vodka and soda.
And where the hell is XM to start these threads? Are we going to need to put an APB out for him?
smoking blue dream
will soon be smoking a padron 1964
PBR. Miller Lite. Masthead Superior Wit.
P.S. padron was phenomenal so was wit
That's one hell of a lineup. As a cigarette smoker (I know, I suck), I could never get into cigars. Not inhaling just doesn't seem natural to me.

Hmmm. We now interrupt our regularly scheduled programming for this special request: consider quitting? It *can* be done, not easily, but it's well worth the effort.
End interruption.

Just don't take up pipe smoking to quit cigs. I tried it and quitting a pipe was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

No judgment here - i used to be a heavy smoker. Quitting was the hardest thing I've ever done. I understand the draw. I still miss it sometimes and I quit over 35 years ago.

don’t blame you. been a tobacco user since age 9. cigs, red man, Kodiak, skoal, black and milds, whatever
finally cut back by using “non tobacco nicotine products” and the occasional cigars and pipes, (no inhale)
August 6th, 2023 at 12:20 PM ^
No judgement here either. I smoked 25 years up to 2 packs a day. Nothing I've ever done has given me a better quality of life back than giving them up. I tried quitting 4 times and finally went the e-cig (vapes) route for a crutch and nicotine hit. Slowly stepped down the nicotine mg to zero. Haven't touched either in 10 years. Totally agree with your point, and the inhaling part was the most difficult to kick for me anyway.

Blue Dream is one of my favorites!
Oh man you just gotta carry over the remainder and remember that UNAM can get out of their contract with Liga MX and then YOURE REALLY ONTO SOMETHING
Eating chicken nuggets and watermelon while drinking Pure Leaf extra sweet tea
I, for one, kinda like Rutgers. I think they should have a rivalry game with sparty with a great, big "S" for a trophy. Rutger vs. Party, and the winner gets the S.
August 5th, 2023 at 11:34 PM ^
They can play for the S but there's no replacing The Situation trophy. God damn sacrilege.
Party Dawgs
In years that are evenly divisible by 3, Rutgers is in the B1G, Cincinnati is in the Big XII, Pittsburgh is in the ACC (e.g., how it is now).
If the remainder is 1 (when dividing by 3), Rutgers rotates to the Big XII, Cincinnati is in the ACC, Pittsburgh is in the B1G.
The other third of years: Rutgers is in the ACC, Cincinnati is in the B1G, Pittsburgh is in the Big XII.
It's the newest innovation in realignment!!! Conference "expansion" without increasing the actual number! Shoot, why not throw Maryland/WVU/Syracuse into the above too.
Ah HA! Penn State really DOES miss their eastern (un)rivals!
Sam Adams Summer Ale or three
I threw old fashioned (read: skin on) hot dogs, sauerkraut, frozen french fries, cheese, a stick of butter and a cup of Frank's red hot into a slow cooker. Could be good. We'll see.
Flying to Dallas tomorrow. Looking forward to a spending a few days of 105+ temps with half our C-suite. I hope the rental car tires don't melt on our way to Waco.
Say hello to Chip and Jojo for my wife.....
Vlad I knew times were tough in Russia what with the war and the sanctions and just the general "Russia-ness" of it all, but man if that isn't the saddest dinner I've heard about in a good long while.

Love all those ingredients, but holy shit the heartburn would keep me awake for weeks.
It actually turned out pretty well, maybe a bit too much Frank's but otherwise delicious!
Next to last trailer load today of my move to the farm. Too tired now to finish unloading it, so I’m going to go into town and bring home the local pizzeria’s Deluxe, and wash it down with a couple UPAs from Upper Hand. Then I’m gonna count all the deer in my yard, but I’ll have to take off my shoes and socks to do that, and that’ll get me started on getting ready for an early bedtime.
I've seen a few of your recent posts about "The Farm" and just now looked back at others---just curious, is this in the UP or maybe somewhere else relatively 'up North'?
Nah, nothing as exciting as all that. Mid-Michigan, about half an hour northeast of Spartyville. Close enough to my elderly parents in EL so I can better meet their needs, while at the same time fulfilling a longtime dream. Thank you for inquiring!
Best wishes and good times on your new farm 👍.
Truly living the dream. Congratulations!
Beer, and iced tea, mostly because it's been 105 out for a couple months now in Texas. My dream Big10 would have 2 Divisions: one division would be the Big10, and the other would be all the other teams we've added on.
Stay hydrated my friend 🍺🍺
Eating Kevin's cilantro lime chicken with rice and drinking diet coke and talking about the time I was charged over $14,000 for a couple of steaks at Paulina Meat Market in Chicago and no one noticed, not me nor the person at the counter nor my credit card company. The next day I get a call from the meat market saying they were going through their receipts from the day before and found mine for $14,465. 72. I still have the receipt pinned to my wall.

Damn. I hope those were some good steaks! 😊
Reubens block party today. Rolling out their 11th anniversary brew called Instant Classic. Barleywine blend. Good stuff.
Do you think Ellen can make the shrimp salad she usually brings for tomorrow? It is fantastic.
…and this is what happens when you are multitasking and kids are around you barraging you with demands. This was supposed to be a text, but now it stays as a testament to my slow descent into insanity.
The response that was intended for this thread is Tullimore Dew.
This is awesome. Did you hear back? Is she bringing the shrimp salad?
Ellen says the shrimp salad is a go! As far as the recipe, she said she basically uses the one on the fifteen spatulas website, but cooks her own shrimp as opposed to buying precooked.
Wondering if you can get Ellen’s fantastic shrimp salad recipe and share it here

Oh man, I fucking despise dill. Enjoy!
August 5th, 2023 at 11:37 PM ^
You might replace the despised dill with more scintillating cilantro. If I did that I might also switch out the lemon juice for fresh lime juice.
I'm eating cole slaw, but now I suddenly want shrimp salad. Dang it, uferfan.
I specifically want Ellen's shrimp salad. No other shrimp salad will do.

Buddy's pizza and water
Sitting down to enjoy a dorm room worthy pizza and beer dinner. NY style pizza and a Bud because that’s about all the energy we have to put into a meal. Drove back from our place in Canada on Lake Huron and it took two frickin’ hours to cross the Blue Water Bridge. Hope they get done on time in October. Going to raise hell with a few of our trips there during football season.
I crossed over there at the beginning of July. FUBAR.
