Hasn't this issue been beaten to death? Why kick them when they're down? I mean Thorne really took it on the chin in this game.

Well at least it was another opportunity for their team to Bond. At times their defense really seemed to handcuff their opponent.

Thanks.

That whole situation and the likely watered down outcome bothers me. I just picture Gemon Green's father driving up from Texas to have a few moments with his son who is hurrying to see him before he has to drive back and this happens.

If someone concussed my son off the field like that I don't think being charitable would be my leaning.

I've seen some articles saying even at 5-7 they are not out of it because there may not be enough 6 win teams and their APR (or whatever academic ranking) is high because of the number of grad students they have

Correct, maybe.

According to the article, I think these are the teams MSU is (or was) in competition to get a bowl spot.

Georgia Southern finished 6-6, qualified for bowl game

Louisiana finished 6-6, qualified for bowl game

Missouri finished 6-6, qualified for bowl game

Southern Miss finished 6-6, qualified for bowl game

UAB finished 6-6, qualified for bowl game

Auburn finished 5-7, and has the same APR as Michigan State, but had a higher score last year

Iowa State finished 5-7, and has a higher APR than Michigan State

Rice finished 5-7, and has a higher APR than Michigan State

UNLV finished 5-7, and has a higher APR than Michigan State

Buffalo finished 5-7, and has a lower APR than Michigan State

So, I think the teams above the line have beat out Michigan State for a bowl spot, and Buffalo hasn't.

looks like 81 teams have 6 wins or better this morning.  of the 5 win teams there is MSU, A&M, Auburn & Miami.

interstingly MSU was 15 AP preseason top25, A&M 6th! Miami 16th, Auburn received votes.  This is why i don’t understand why people get so bent about preseason polls? TCU did not receive 1 vote in the preseason!

While I enjoy schadenfreude as much as the next guy, I believe MSU will make a bowl game at 5-7. It may be the Quick Lane Bowl but it will be a bowl.
