Might as well just name it the "Hot-n-Ready Bowl"
Viagra, Cialis, Trojan, etc. etc.
Good god.
Could they just rename it the "Soggy Crust" bowl and get it over with.
I was so hoping that "Motor City Bowl has been renamed . . ." would be a joke thread of some sort. Now I can't tell if it is or isn't.
Finally, something worse than the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl.
The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. 8 effing words.
hmmmmm...I'd rather it be called "The Viton Bowl"
Just think of all the awesome gift bags and swags we could do with that.
Rubber for everyone!!
this rules, so hard.
Cubbie sportswriters will soon be calling it Pizza Pizza Bowl Bowl....
Maybe The The will play at halftime.
Talk Talk?
Duran Duran, would be my choice. Also, I just moved out of Hermosa, I bet we know each other.
We could get some awesomeee accordions going on then.
Would love to see a marching band play songs from Pavement's "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" at halftime.

And Boutros Boutros Ghali could be the grand marshall of the Pizza Pizza Bowl Parade.
Given how often cars are stolen in Detroit I always though that Lojack should sponsor the bowl.
So is this Little Caesar's sponsoring it, or the Canadian pizza chain?
As for bad bowl names, I miss the Poulan Weedeater Independence Bowl, as well as the Crucial.com Humanitarian Bowl. We had no idea what Crucial.com was, so it couldn't have been all that crucial.
They make computer memory chips, but you are correct that for the most part no one knows what the hell they do.
I didn't think it was possible but this news has done it! - I now want us to make 8+ wins even more. That way there's no chance that we'll have to go to a bowl named "The Pizza Pizza Bowl".
No you guys need to look at it as the Pizza^2 Bowl (that should read as Pizza sqared Bowl) and that way it is more suited for us A^2 fans.
lol
Yeah, my girlfriend has some square bowls. They're kinda crazy, not all that useful.
This is the worst idea I have ever heard.
Well maybe not worse than that thread about the winner-take-all home-and-home thing. But this is definitely the second worst idea I have ever heard.
SEE! I knew I wasn't the only person who thought that was completely stupid.
Kill me... now...
Worst. Name. Ever. Why not just name it the Little Caesar's Bowl?
Then it could have battled the Papajohns.com Bowl for pizza bowl game supremacy!
Mike Illich isn't that stupid. Must've been one of his marketing guys.
I was almost hoping we would make it to the Motor City Bowl, as I have never been to a M bowl game. Not anymore.
The pizza incentives would be out of this world though.
With all of the bad stuff we have had to deal with as M football fans over the past few years (i.e. Appy State, 3-9, WVU fans, coaching search debacle, Threetsheridammit, losing to OSU, etc.) , it seems like we are destined to play in the Pizza Pizza Bowl.
Could you imagine an RR press conference where he says "I'm looking forward to preparing the guys for a battle at the Pizza Pizza Bowl".
Even Toilet Bowl would have sounded better.
"Little Caesar's Pizza, Pizza Bowl" to match their ad campaign. Kinda catchy.

The Motor City Bowl, due to its legitimate (and awesome) name, had a chance to rise in prestige among the ranks of these crap-name bowls
That chance is gone with one fell swoop
Ahh there is nothing like a hot n ready on a summer day..
Maybe some $5 tickets will sell the place out...
They'll give 'em away in a Hot n' Ready deal. 5 bucks for a pizza and a ticket in the nosebleeds.
What's wrong with you people? This is AWESOME. Bowl names have been a complete joke forever - at least now it's funny.
One of the last respectable things detroit had left just took a dive bomb.
They should call it the monica conyers bowl

Wait...what was "respectable" about the Motor City Bowl? Or, rather, what WAS respectable about it that no longer is?
Ford Field is a very nice stadium and... uh, that's it.
Look, the MCB had already lost Chrysler as a sponsor and now GM and Ford are cutting their sponsorships. They did what most bowl games do and found a local investor and that investor in turn demanded naming rights. That they picked a horribly stupid name is neither here nor there.
What does bother me, though, is that there seemed to be a nice trend where corporate sponsors were coming up with real sounding names for their bowls. Instead of the Insight.Com Bowl it became the Insight Bowl. Instead of the Diamond Walnut Bowl, it became the Emerald Bowl.
But "Pizza Pizza Bowl" is so funny.
Oh, I agree with your general premise that if you're going to give us the PapaJohns.com Bowl then you should at least have fun with it. But I'd prefer they make an effort to be reasonable with the names. Looking at list of bowl games, only a few have horrible corporate names:
Capital One
Champs Sports
Chick-fil-A (the worst one, the Peach Bowl had so much brand history)
EagleBank
GMAC
Meineke Car Care
Maaco
Outback
Papajohns.com
I don't have a problem with the likes of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, because it's not meant to be referred to as such. Poinsettia Bowl is a perfectly good name.
I get what you're saying, but what could they have named the bowl that would also make the viewers think of Little Caesars? The "Little Caesars" Bowl doesn't seem that classy. The "Avoid the Noid" Bowl? I dunno.
I'd consider the MHSAA Championships more respectable than that so called bowl game. It sucked to begin with and it will still suck now.
I always hated the "Motor City Bowl". It sounded stupid. This is actually an improvement.
"The name Perles mentioned to WWJ -- the "Little Caesars Pizza, Pizza Bowl" -- is highly unlikely, considering the company no longer uses that slogan in its U.S. advertising."
