“She puts together an individualized plan for every kid on a scholarship to make sure that they have a path to getting where they want to in the timeframe that they have. She realizes some people may not stay the whole five years at the school, so you want to get out of there with a degree if you do leave a year early. She certainly wants to make sure that they leave Michigan with something in their hands.”
“She was just straight up and everything was coming from the heart. She was just straight up saying if the boys have like female problems (they can talk to her), she can talk about grades, she help them out with different stuff. It’s like a team mom. Every morning she eats breakfast with them, eats dinner with them… she is always with these guys on a lot of stuff. She was impressive. She was really impressive.”

Casey Anthony who was found not guilty of murdering her young daughter. (But she really did it)

Sorry, mad hatter covered it below. I just can't believe it's freaking 16 degrees out. Still. In March. Going stir crazy. Daylight savings is Saturday, for pete's sake.

Of all the support staff, she can have the greatest impact.  When away from home, the motherly figures in my new life had the greatest impact on me.  I wonder if Harbaugh would bring her along for in-home recruiting visits.

OP doesn't say it, but those quotes came from Michael Jordan Sr. and Donnie Corley Sr. Their sons are #2 and #3 in the state for 2016.

I really think adding her to the staff was a great idea. I'm sure parents, especially California and Florida and other far-away parents, will feel better knowing their sons will have someone like Gwen around to lean on. I am also wondering if she can help curtail some of the off-field problems we've had?? I guess only time will tell!

I would be curious to know what her salary is, too. Invaluable is a great adjective to describe her and what this position means. I really like the idea of having an individual plan for everyone to get their degrees!

And it's nice too for those who will take 3-5 years. I'm sure there's something in place for NFL bound 3-year players to know "this is what I'll need to do after I retire to complete my degree", but I'd have to think that having a parental figure who's got lots of knowledge about M's system would be a nice add. It's not just a counselor saying "take 5 classes" it's a counselor & Gwen breaking it down.

Genuinely honest question, is there any chance a protective momma of a recruit who lives in FL or CA might not like the idea of a rival momma mothering their kid so far away from them?

is going to end up in a Chunky Soup commercial hawking Michigan football players to eat their soup. Book it!
