Moderator Action Sticky

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on

Brian has requested that instead of deleting each individual comment in the Moderator Action Sticky, that we instead just create a new thread. It takes hours of less time, preserves the comments for future explanations, and just clears things up faster.

You'll notice that the previous thread is now locked, and will slowly fade back into darkness. For the time being, the link from the Useful Stuff menu will point to the wrong location. We're working on a fix for that.

This thread is an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.

New Thread.

Yet another thread about Drew Sharp's column today. Remember kids, he desperately wants to get a rise out of you so that you'll read his single-sentence paragraphs. Don't fall into his trap.

If I knew how to code and had access to the code for the MGoApps, I'd code something about users needing over 100 MGoPoints to create a thread.

Seriously though, Elaydin and whomever created the Android App, I hope you can work that into your next updates. I've no idea if it's hard or not. Otherwise, great work on everything.

Used "O$U" -- big no-no.

Also the topic didn't really add anything else the other articles on OSU on the board right now did.

Dammit Section 1. You really gotta start your own blog (I would read it) to fisk bad Michigan coverage in media (mainstream and otherwise).

On this blog, there's no Sharp.

FTR my journalism teacher spent hours trying to get me to write more succinctly, and look how that turned out. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you can't get a guy's pad level down. Think about that.

If there was a board post for every cool little Michigan thing our wives do to show they love (Michigan) us...

Congrats on the baby, though.

Note: Policy of no points docking for violations by new fathers. We here at MGo can sympathize with a brain going through massive rewiring. Normal responsibility resumes when the kid sleeps through the night (and you do too).

Finding "insider info" posted at RCMB is like being excited about a full bottle of ketchup you found in the home of a Category 10 hoarder. Yes, theoretically it's possible it's still good. You still shouldn't eat it, and you sure as hell shouldn't bring it home and put it in the fridge.

That's a legit penalty!  Even-handed I say, for what its worth.  Gotta nip it in the bud.

That said, I never got an answer to my question in the main thread - are threads on European soccer OT?  I know Brian allows them generally but I wasn't sure if that policy is effective during the football season too . . . Thanks in advance.

Hey fellas, can you guys do something for MGoUser Denarded?  He's done an amazing job maintaining the "There are " posts for almost 8 months.

I know points don't mean as much as they used to, but maybe throw 1,000 or more his way?

Also, Max and PahokeePahokee filled in when Denarded couldn't.

I haven't been able to access the site with Firefox 6 since after the game yesterday.  I thought it was blown up on purpose, but finally pulled out IE and I can get in.

Anybody know what's going on with Firefox?

OT: Maryland uniforms-worst ever?

Uniforms that ugly deserve at least two posts. Maybe three or four. But for now, we'll go with one.

Thread locked after a guy went with a national socialist reference (guy is gone).

Apologies for the loss of some thoughtful comments by CRex. In the future let's not play "is it racist" on the boards. That's what Tosh is for.

ogod bleacher report. Just when I thought I was in, they pull me back out.

We'll discuss if the B.R. ban will stay in effect since they've hired actual people who have actual credibility to maybe get them moving back toward the Alpha Quadrant of credibility. But incidents like posting a preview from a "trusted columnist" or whatever that says Minor is likely out with injury and Greg Robinson will be breaking in a new defense is the kind of thing that gets them flung back into the Delta Quadrant. I half expect the new guys to be assimilated within a month.

Echoing the sentiment in the thread, its not necessary to start threads about bets made with one's friends unless they are extraordinary in nature or inspire discussion (i.e. not the obligatory "cool story, bro" responses).

Also, if this is a re-try of a thread that was just moderated by my colleague Blue in South Bend, not cool OP.  Fool us once, shame on us - fool us twice, shame on you!

OT: Grantland article on DFW's piece on Federer

Interesting, but a little too OT for in-season (especially with a big football match-game scheduled for tomorrow)
