Moderator Action Sticky
Brian has requested that instead of deleting each individual comment in the Moderator Action Sticky, that we instead just create a new thread. It takes hours of less time, preserves the comments for future explanations, and just clears things up faster.
You'll notice that the previous thread is now locked, and will slowly fade back into darkness. For the time being, the link from the Useful Stuff menu will point to the wrong location. We're working on a fix for that.
This thread is an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.
NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.

Denard has thrown as many interceptions as touchdowns
And Vincent Smith wears the same number jersey as Charles Woodson. But we don't need a new thread for every football related fact.
Also, as a Public Service Announcement, if you ever find yourself prefacing a post with "neg me if you must, but..." you may wish to reconsider your decision to post.

A few years back, my sister was offered a scholarship by Michigan. She visited the campus and seriously considered enrolling. However, she had a change of heart and instead chose to attend Clemson University (small world!). I wonder why no one has started a thread about her . . .

Also, if you have to act like a tool, at least refrain from posting your toolish deeds here.

No Turley, please. Hopefully this will be the last one.

The station will keep putting him on and the natives will keep getting restless. Maybe someone should contact the station and let them know how insensitive they are being, assuming they don't already know.

Woolfolk's Ankle 2010/2011
Mike Martin's Strength 2008/2009/2010/2011
Mockery warranted... but for sanity's sake, these two were pulled. The Denard one (while probably laughable) is at least a real thing, so it stays for now.

I'll leave that decision to the big guys upstairs. I would do the same for all of the MGoElders, simply out of respect for their time and contributions to the Board. But I hear what you're saying and agree that, at some point, the accumulated social capital runs out.

At this point it's like if I ban His Dudeness I have to nail jg2112 as well and there's just so few of the older folks left as it is. I already had to cave a user from the old days whom I used to find absolutely hilarious, because he was really crossing the line.
It's like kicking Jessica Curtin out of MSA. Yes she's an 18th year senior sent by a Detroit workers' organization to start the American communist revolution from inside the Michigan Student Assembly (really, how funny is this?), but there's just something kind of endearing about her existence after all this time. It's like you know the Hippie Hash at the Fleetwood probably breaks 90 health codes, but would you ever dream of forcing them to take it off the menu? It's part of the fabric.
There's something so MGoBlog about these particular posters and their continuing patronage that makes me think this is still a blog not a news outlet, the way Jessica keeps alive the idea that University of Michigan students might one day again alter the course of political discourse while being careful not to step on the M.
September 30th, 2011 at 2:06 PM ^
Is she seriously still there? She was a senior when I was on MSA in 2000-2001.

We all got it comin', kid.
Can I trade Dudeness for BRCE?
More seriously, I'd trade it for someone other than formerlyanonymous knowing how to lock and recreate this thread...it's getting a little load unwieldy.

For learning purposes (no critique intended!), is there a reason why the "too much content" thread was deleted? I was monitoring it and Misopogon posted in it so I assumed it should stay and didn't touch it. Any guideance you have is appreciated.
(I'll delete this after you've responded, if you have time to respond.)

I thought it was okay. Some of what people were saying was the easy to ignore bit but yeah, put this back because we're conversing about this subject specifically and I could use the feedback.

110% of ND-to-Big-Ten rumors are false. The extra 10% are the ones that are posted on mirror sites (co.cc in the url is a giveaway) and are completely fake, in case applying to the Ivy League and the Coast Guard rivalry were not clue enough.

I've been watching what he/she is doing and I can't figure it out. At first it looked like computer malfunction but now it looks like he/she is doing it purposely. In the meantime, I've docked him/her points to un-account for the multiple posting.

triple-guh for the Big Ten for the stupid names. No, the Big Ten is not intelligent enough about college football fandom to post on MGoBlog.

Question: was the thread about Michigan-related Halloween costumes, or was it some dude asking if he should go as the Karate Kid shower thing?
The former I think would be okay and I would like to post my ideas in that:
- The Paul Bunyan Trophy - have a tag from a schlock store hanging out of your jeans
- The Little Brown Jug - half M half minnyM shirt, and sew on the score tags. Good one for a pregnant wife
- Sarah Palin and Glen Rice: This is my not so subtle plan for expensing a sweet M throwback jersey and Michigan warmups.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:51 AM ^
It was generic halloween costumes. I probably would have let it slide in late-October, or if Michigan themed, or if I was in a better mood.
I imagine the topic will pop up again in a couple of weeks.

I'm probably going to burn in hell for deleting this thread but I am charged with enforcing the rules and one of them is no OT during football season. That said and done, I admit that I would not likely have seen this news were it not for your post. Mitigating circumstances!
