MMB Blues Brothers MP3?
Does anyone know where I can get a decent-to-good-quality mp3 of the marching band playing I can't turn you loose, the Blues Brothers song that everyone dances to at hockey games and now at football games too? I've looked all around and all I can really find are youtube videos where the crowd overpowers the band most of the time. I'd be willing to buy one of their CDs if it had it. If anyone can point in the direction of this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Moe's has several CDs of MMB music, here's one with the track you want on it. Doesn't look free though...

The MMB CD titled 'A Satruday Tradition' has it as track 19 and can be purchased from the MMB's website for $20.

Thanks guys. I thought it was crazy that they wouldn't have that on one of the CDs but I guess I just didn't know where to look.

I'm still planning on buying the CD like I said, but at least this will let me start using it until I am able to get to Moe's. Thanks.

Can you please forward the .mp3 on to me? I too plan on picking up the CD at Fan Day on Sunday. This would make my wife's day if I had that song for the camping trip we are going on tomorrow through Saturday. Thanks! [email protected]

Hey, could you send me that mp3 as well? I've been searching all over for it and i can only find it on that cd but I only need that clip. Its for the UofM alumni association out of Charleston, SC. We'd like to play it during our gamewatches.
And as always, GO BLUE!

While were on this subject of mp3's etc. Does anybody on this board mess around with torrents? Are these things safe? Are there good (i.e. safe) e-book and music torrent sites out there that anybody can recommend?

They are as safe as any download; you just need to make sure you download from safe sources, read comments to make sure it's not a virus, have up-to-date anti-virus, etc.
This should help get you started.

I would also suggest looking into some other articles on that site about torrenting.

If you're using torrents it's a must, in my opinion. In fact, I'd recommend that anyone connected to the Internet, use it. Blocks connections to any known IPs considered "bad", such as any RIAA IPs, government IPs, botnet IPs, malware IPs, etc. (Note: This all depending on the IP lists you download. It's not 100% protection from being caught or infected, but it's much better than nothing. Just do what the guy above said and you should be fine.

Yea, I had mentioned that, but I rewrote my response and forgot to add it back in.

I personally am not a fan of using this song at games. I think its a little too corny.

It's once of my favorite songs that the band plays.

Long time tradition. I grew up hearing Grapentine say, "By the year 2006, the music known as 'the blues' will exist only in the classic record department of your local public library."
Now that we're post-2006, what does Carl say now when the band plays this?

Well in this video from 2009 (I fail at embedding) he says 2016. So maybe the plan is to add ten years everytime we need to? Also as a sidenote I love the addition of the Block M flag from the cake formation that has happend in recent years.

The Cake. The Cake. The Cake.
I concur, the little flag that goes up is brilliant.

Michiganhockey.net has a good selection of free hockey band mp3's here:

Just listened to Blue's Brothers. And danced at my desk. Fall needs to hurry.

I went on iTunes and bought both the opening and closing versions of the above by the blues brothers. Then cut them down to make excellent ringtones. The mp3's on hockey.net aren't as good of quality as iTunes.

If you want have fun wasting an hour or so of your time, start YouTubing the Big Chill and fan videos of the cheers and the second intermission.... That was easily one of the most fun days I've ever had in Ann Arbor:

I came to watch an MMB flamewar erupt. I'm a little disappointed.
August 10th, 2011 at 6:17 PM ^
What would this flamewar consist of?

BUY OUR CD DON'T STEAL OUR MUSIC!!!! RAARRR..
Seriously, though, I'll side with the MMB on that battle.

I guess I subconsciously anticipated that, which is why I said in the OP that I don't mind buying a CD.
