In happier news, Georgia is crushing Auburn 35-7 in the 2nd.

Is Richt still on the hot seat after this win
November 12th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
No, he will be on the hot seat again when they lose to LSU in Atlanta in a few weeks.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
That said, who knows what the power players at Georgia could be thinking. One scenario would be Georgia and Florida (rivals) to the Big Ten, citing the cutthroat nature of the SEC. However, recent NCAA scholarship reforms will help solve some of the problems in college athletics today. As for Richt, his contract runs through 2013. He only has one loss in conference so far this year, which might help. Then again, he's already making 2.8 million a year.

Can we leave Borges in the locker room?
November 12th, 2011 at 5:18 PM ^
I'm sorry. I really don't understand why people attack Borges so much. Yes, he has had a few poor moments, but that would be true of any o coordinator.

He just engineered 250 yards in one half against the #6 D in the land with a below average throwing qb, who has struggled throwing in the red zone his whole career. (See MSU last year).

Play calling is not the reason why it's only 14-0. It's maybe a part, but execution has been awful at key points, most notatably 3 qb turnovers.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
Agreed. Denard just isn't a good passer. Accept that fact. Borges is calling good plays, and we can't execute at all. Do I want Gardner in? No. But this is frustrating!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
I don't understand it either. He has called some great plays throughout the game. Sometime it isn't the play call, but the execution.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:24 PM ^
And, you know, sometimes really good defensive players making plays.

It's not like we are playing Kent State. Sometimes, good defenses get inspired and make plays.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:22 PM ^
Thank you, the play calling hasn't been that bad. The execution has been killing us.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:23 PM ^
You have the most electric quarterback that is incredibly fast and you don't have him roll out at all.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:25 PM ^
He did call some roll outs. Are tou watching the same game we are?
November 12th, 2011 at 5:25 PM ^
November 12th, 2011 at 5:31 PM ^
is a good example. Should have been a pass with a bit more underneath and to the back of endzone. Instead, it was a bullet giving Odoms no chance, albeit a smallish receiver.
The hail mary was another one in which DR throws a bullet, overthrows his deep guys (nothing new) and gives them no chance to make a play. I know it's a low percentage play and I'm nitpicking, but man, oh man, the wasted opportunities.
Just hope it doesn't bite them in the 2nd half.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:26 PM ^
Earlier this season, Brian was bitching about how ineffective our rollout pass plays were. Fans have terrific hindsight.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:27 PM ^
You watched the Illini D? They are send a outside LB off the edge all day. It's taking the roll out away.

And then, to counter it, Borges calls a screen that Denard throws to Oline.

Desmond Morgan brought the pain!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
This defense is amazing!!!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
Smothering D!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
Watching Boise lose gets me hard.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
If they lose its ur fault now
November 12th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
Some zone blitzes executed perfectly today.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
Yay, actual return yards!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
Mattison's D > RR's O?
November 12th, 2011 at 5:37 PM ^
Thank God for Greg Mattison, he impresses the hell out of me.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:39 PM ^
Offsides?
November 12th, 2011 at 5:39 PM ^
over the transformation that this defense has made. Simply amazing.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
That worked well.
November 12th, 2011 at 6:17 PM ^
Well done.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
Can the D play both ways?
November 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
Denard bounced a pass off of a CB's numbers!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
That was a gift. Rolling Denard still doesn't work. Imagine that.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
Lol. Yea. We need to do that more.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
He's killing us.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
STFU!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:47 PM ^
He singlehandedly is keeping Illinois in the game. So his suggestion has merit.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:50 PM ^
I know, but he's been saying the same thing since the first half. The coaches aren't reading the board. It's really fucking annoying!
November 12th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
But I'm starting to really feel that our biggest liability is Denard.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
Dropped snaps, INT's, near INT's, fumbles...he has been terrible today.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
Okay, 4 series later...0 points. I ask again. Serious question: should we give Devin a shot?
November 12th, 2011 at 5:46 PM ^
How is this trolling? I was serious the first time I asked the question and got a honest answer (it would be a panic move)...I agreed.
However, now I want to get the feel of the board.
Some of your neg happy people are ridiculous.
FWIW, I do think it's time to give Devin a series.

November 12th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
We don't have a qb period, denard is an athlete, Gardner makes too many mistakes, aughhhhh!!! Guess we have to wait 3-4 years for morris
November 12th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
Devin is taking snaps on the sideline.......
