On way home, the women’s basketball team went through a storm and lost pressure. The oxygen masks had to come down but fortunately the plane made a safe emergency landing in Evansville, IN and no one was hurt

Doesn't even have to be storms.  Feb and March are the worst times to fly as the jet stream changes over North America.  In 2019 a flight I was on had to make an emergency landing in Reno due to turbulence (the cabin was trashed) and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Thank goodness! Uh, these aviation incidents are becoming a little too common for our basketball teams, maybe it's time to purchase a few Winnebagos...

Glad they're safe, that had to be a scary landing, though!  But the team picture was something that will end up on a Christmas card from the program.

In the linked story about the game (linked in the artical that Squirrels posted), Naz Hillmon had an awesome quote regarding all the firsts the team reached this season:

"...This has been a special team having a lot of firsts but now it’s time to make seconds. We’re a program that’s coming to compete and is not going to be an easy program to step over.”

They're going to start making seconds.  I love that!!!

(Here are the 'firsts' she was talking about: a 10-0 start, the program’s highest ranking of No. 11, Hillmon’s 50 points against Ohio State, the Wolverines’ best seed in the NCAA Tournament, and then the first Sweet 16 appearance.)
