Anyone able to find a stream? Dont want to pay BTN for one exhibition game.

Very aggressive in transition so far. This could be a fun team to watch. BTN+ also has another game on 11/22, so for $16 you can watch 2 games in November and cancel. The broadcaster sounds like Robyn Leach. European accent more like a soccer announcer.

Shot selection hasn't been great. Defense has been suspect at best. No sets are being run at all. This looks rickety. Not a lot of shooting or skill on this team.

Need Franz back soon because Brooks still looks like a MAC player.

Good start followed by some rough patches. NBA offensive philosophy of shoot the ball when you are open. Don’t pass up a decent look. However, ugh I worry about DeJulius and Nunez. I have yet to witness either one hit a 3 in a game. And the misses aren’t close. Hope they can get their confidence going.

Nice run to close the half. Livers looks like he has a better handle and is more aggressive in general. Shooting seems to be worse. Overall pretty sloppy performance so far. Nothing to be BPONE about though.

Wagner is desperately needed for his outside shooting if nothing else.  Small lineup of Simpson, Brooks and DeJulius got abused on the defensive end in the first half.

2nd half thoughts:

Livers is a stud. Simpson and Teske look about the same as last year. Castleton and Johns each have a lot of skill. DeJulius is a bit of a chucker, he'll make some plays and then drive you crazy with others. Defense looks a bit rickety. Franz is badly needed back as a secondary scorer to Livers. I still don't know what Beilein and Jay Wright saw in Brooks.

I was at the game. My impression re Brooks: he’s going to get a lot of minutes this year, he plays hard, he plays solid D, he rebounds. He is going to score a lot of points bc he is really aggressive in transition (this new philosophy will benefit him). He’s going to cause a lot of fan discomfort with a lot of turnovers.

Once Franz comes back his minutes are going to be significantly reduced. He plays out of control and doesn't make shots. That said he did a nice job grabbing some rebounds today and hitting his free throws. When I watch him I just don't see a B1G caliber player. Not singling him out either, I think Nunez has a long ways to go to. Don't think Beilein left Howard with much talent at the wing spot.

Second half as been marginally better. Shooting is an issue. Rebounding and shot blocking looks impressive. Hopefully Wagner adds some play making ability. Teske and Castleton got some run together, it didn’t look awkward atall. Nunez needs to improve his on ball defense. Tuesday night will be interesting.

Exhibition game and early non conference games are meaningless. Important thing is to get in game experience and avoid any injuries. Idiots will overreact to big wins or terrible loses. One thing I learned from John Beilein basketball season starts after Christmas. Hopefully the same holds true with Juwan Howard. Go Blue!

My high-level impressions:

talked about brooks above, I thinks he’ll be a big contributor

Livers is a physical specimen

Johns made a couple of threes, his stroke is a lot smoother than I expected it to look. Could be huge if he can step out reliably

worried about the defense. Gave up a lot of good looks to a physically inferior team.

It’s amazing how quickly people are going to forget how bad the offense was last year and blame it on the new offensive system. This is a critically flawed roster from an offensive standpoint, getting out and running is the best thing we can do
