Being a fan of this football team is pain.

The first comment is about the best way to put it.

Size isn't always the most significant factor in a D Lineman. Quickness, smarts, good coaching--they are the significant factors. But when you're smaller than the team you're facing, and they are also quick, smart, and well coached, then size is an issue. Michigan's D Line didn't stand up well to Wisconsin and Ohio Sts O Lines. Alabama's O Line is just as good as those two, probably better.

I really want to see Michigan win on New Years day. I am very happy they qualified for a NY6. But wow, this one is going to be a monumental challenge.

It's good to have an upbeat guy around, I guess. I hope Michigan can get a running game going...

At least the usual suspects can't find a way to accuse you of being an Ohio St troll--as hard as they may try.

edit: But now that I think of it, shoot, they can manufacture some labored way of doing it. I should never underestimate them.

Uh, you might want to check out who Alabama’s coach is if you think they won’t give a fuck and come out lazy and unprepared.

Bama could be playing the North Dakota School of Mines and Performing Arts in a bowl game in Alaska, and Saban would still be determined to go and win it 63-0.

There’s not a chance in hell Saban’s not relishing the opportunity to destroy a guy who some still claim is his near equal in the coaching community, and who gets paid almost as as he does, despite not having 1/1,000th the accomplishments.

Who thinks Harbaugh is Saban's near equal? Saban has 6 national championships and Harbaugh has not won a conference championship yet. I mean, Harbaugh's a good coach, had more NFL success, and Saban is unethical and unlikeable. But they're not in the same ballpark in terms of accomplishments or perception in the coaching community.

Half the people on this board for one will still try and find a way to say that Harbaugh is only just slightly behind Saban as a coach and the only reason Saban is so much more successful is because of academic standards and bagmen.
Also, after his first 2 seasons here, there were several national talking heads who were saying Harbaugh was the best coach in the nation despite the utter ridiculousness of that statement.

Obviously they’ve had to back it off some the last 3 years, but there are still plenty of people out there who are trying to spin the narrative that Saban isn’t really THAT much better.

I’m sure Nick’s heard these comments and is very eager to put them to rest

Either they win and Harbaugh gets to shut everyone up, or they lose and his critics get to crow.

I’m an optimist, so I lean towards the win.

I’m not sure why the shade on his coach selection. His coaches are generally well respected. Despite the blowouts to OSU brown is still respected. Partridge is, and Bama tried to poach him. Zordich always seems to do a good job. Gattis seems to be coming along. This isn’t like the Hoke era
