I've been annoyed since the start of the season that Michigan has gotten no love from the media despite having a solid core of players back from last year. If I was Coach Howard, I would take this personal. Iowa State is favored by 2.5 and I don't believe the Cyclones are ranked either. This is the one we need to show ourselves that we deserved to be ranked.

The pundits are going to make Howard earn it. But honestly there is almost nothing less important in the universe than November college basketball rankings. Rankings in general play almost zero roll in tournament seeding anymore. Win a few games this weekend and the team will get a lot of people’s attention.

If MBB does well it's a 4 day tournament with the last game on Saturday. They'd probably get home Saturday night and then have to travel to Louisville on Tuesday. That's a rough stretch of potentially having to play some of UNC, Gonzaga, Seton Hall, Oregon, and Louisville in less than a week.
