Michigan at SMU [open thread]

We just don't have any athletes aside from Levert and a 50% Irvin. Dawkins can hop, but he's not necessarily quick or coordinated. All of our bigs are some kind of combination of goofy, undersized, uncoordinated, or just plain bad. Kam plays like he's high (Bad Sam Perkins). Spike was slow before the hip surgeries. Etc Etc ... we just get beasted on by teams with athletes.

double dribble yikes. Hopefully the team settles down in halftime. This game is still winnable and it's only an 11 point game. 

We're not really that aggressive on defense and keep losing opponents.

Every guy on Izzo's teams knows how to rebound. Belein needs to have the team strap on some shoulder pads and learn some toughness.

Ugh... 14 points but it feels like a 20 point blow out already. 

Too much dribbling. If you can't attack on the dribble, you have to have great ball movement. A pass is always quicker than a defender, open shots will come.

At least I won't have to stay awake for the second half.

This team is hard to watch and has been hard to watch all year. No toughness inside, relies way too much on jump shots, and way too soft on defense. This team does not look good this year, especially if they aren't hitting from outside. Not sure what the expectation is at this point.

We've seen this movie. There's no coming back against a team that has athletes and wants to play defense. This is brutal to watch.

We need to get much more athletic on this team if we aren't going to have great basketball players

THere is no way a Michigan team should be this bad so long into Bielien's tenure.  You have to look at coaching options.

2 straight years of ineptitude.

Had high hopes for this year. Those are fading fast. And to think we lose our 2 best players. Next year is going to be absolutely brutal

I wish I could watch a Michigan team that played defense.

Maybe the team should lay off the estrogen treatments in the offseason.

I like Beilein and I think he is a great coach.  But there is just not enough talent on this team to compete at a high level.  Saldly, Levert, Walton and Irving will be gone next year and this team is destined to be average at best for the next few years.
