Michigan Player(s) plant spear in Spartan Stadium during pre-game

Submitted by MGoBender on

Apparently, per all the Twitters, some Michigan player(s) planted a spear on the block S during the pregame.

Does Hoke have any control over his team?

This is apparently why Dantonio went for the last touchdown (way to take the high road, Mark).  But still, if there was ever a time to not disrespect your rival, it was before this game.

EDIT: Some Tweets:

"Them putting a spear in a field before the game is not a product of their team but their program." - Dantonio on the UofM Pregame spear.

Connor Cook was clear, last TD was because MSU felt disrespected before game. Said a UM player stuck a spear in field before game

Buddy just asked me if Dantonio ran it up because of Nussmeier's reaction but just heard UM players speared the S. That would explain it

And worst of all:

Hoke said he was somewhat aware that one his players put a spear in the ground before the game but "not fully aware"

Perhaps, not worst of all. This seems dubious, so please be untrue:

According to the #MSU players, they saw a #Michigan players throw a spear down on their field during the national anthem.

Final Edit: Appears to not be on the block S. Here's the .gif

not fully aware". If that doesn't describe the embarrassment that is Hoke, I don't know what does. We want to have our six million dollar coach rep the fifteenth (whatever) most prestigious university in the world, and he can barely put two consecutive sentences together. AND THIS HAS BEEN OBVIOUS FOR YEARS.

Only a fool thinks that the arbitrarily determined, legal age of 18 confers "adulthood".

You can be biologically 43 years old and still NOT be an "adult".

College football players, in general, are most certainly NOT "adults". This is not to diminish or disprespect their humanity, feelings, or autonomy. They still deserve all of that as human beings (as well as people who are NOT college football players BTW!)

But please don't try to pull the argument that because they are 18 or older they are somehow "adults".

Not even close my friend.

The overwhelming majority are still kids. Some of them become adults as upperclassman, some do not.

Honestly, fuck the high road.  Dantonio hates us, hates losing to us, and wants to curbstomp us each chance he gets and it shows in the way his team plays.  I want a coach with that mentality.  I'm so sick of this crap -- I'm glad he punched in that late one.  If they wanna pull stunts like that, back it up with play.

So if UM was 7-1 and MSu showed up with a shit team and put a spear down at midfield and Harbaugh was coaching you'd be like "Oh Harbaugh you are such a small butt hurt man - let off on Sparty".

No you'd be like "FUCK YES HARBAUGH!"
