Michigan Men's Hoops vs UNC Asheville

This is the first time in a long time I have no real expectations for the team. I just hope they are in the mix as a bubble team and Dug and Tarris grow throughout the year setting up a run with a veteran team next year.

I have no idea what to expect from this years team or from Juwan as a coach. The conference as a whole doesn't look particularly strong, so hopefully we can gather enough wins in non-conference if we find ourselves on the bubble again

Will be nice to focus on something…different for a little while. 

At least we don’t have to watch Carstensen officiate tonight.

Asheville looks talented, but liking the defensive intensity thus far from Michigan.  

Both teams are a bit sloppy with the TOs.  Asheville only scoring on FTs and both teams are being physical.

Yeah, that was marginal over the back at best.  Williams just had solid position.

That's a nice putback, even if a bit lucky.  And their one big shot a contested 3; I'll take that.

Big Ten basketball officials….they never change.  

Am I the only one who feels like I don't even know this team anymore? I gotta catch up. Transfers and early exits to the pros have made it hard to follow. We've had a long run of multi year standouts in the last.. 15 years? Haven't seen much of anything out of any of these guys in a Michigan uniform. Truly have no idea what to expect, but my default is not much after the last couple years.

Maybe it’s just the body type, but Burnett reminds me of Charles Matthews

I really don't like Williams getting these many minutes.  He's a guy you want for 10-15 minutes, but he's just not a starter.

Would be nice to get a win over a tourney team from last year. It feels like if we hit on our transfers and we get sophomore leaps, this might be a fun team to watch this year.

1st game of the season, but they've had a couple weird mental lapses on defense, just letting people drive completely unguarded. 

Dug looks good shooting though. Confident shot and looks smooth.

Don’t see why Williams starts over Jackson. Also playmaking with the ball outside of Dug might be a challenge. Otherwise things look good so far.

Early Tschetter minutes is something I was not expecting

Asheville is hitting some low-percentage shots but otherwise not doing a ton offensively.  But Michigan's gotta get back on defense a bit quicker.

Take a shot every time they say Asheville is not intimidated.

Well big ten officiating still blows. Looks like another year of ticky tack games and I’m sure the football style officiating will come as well. 

Probably not the hottest of takes, but after less than ten minutes of basketball I'm confident in saying that Burnett finishes at the rim better than any player on last year's roster.

I really like Olivier Nkoumhwa. He looks like a legit 4. Nice to slide a thinned-down TWill to the 3 where I’ve contended he belongs.
