Wow. I can't say anything else except I'm fucking pissed off.

It's one thing to lose the conference championship, if ferris would win and Michigan would have won. It's one thing to lose it over something you can't control. But to lose it to the worst fucking team in the conference, in the fashion that they did. It's unacceptable.

I think Michigan took bowling green lightly. I'm just very mad right now. western and ferris state are in OT, western is on a 5 minute PP. I hope western gets swept.

I better see a BIG Michigan win tomorrow. Michigan needs home ice. They need 1 point. Get it tomorrow, and worry about the conference tournament.

Just win. Kick bowling green's ass tomorrow and put fear into the other teams around the conference who might play Michigan.

I was just listening on the radio stream rather than actually watching. Easier to be detached from a frustrating night of hockey. Unfortunately, as Brian has pointed out, that's the way this team is this year. Let's just hope they find that fire again down the stretch...

western wins the shootout and is now tied with Michigan in 2nd place at 47 points.

Michigan must win tomorrow to clinch home ice. western has to play at ferris.

I don't think western will beat them.

I want to see a 5 goal win tomorrow by Michigan. I rather Michigan get their loss out now the more I think about it, but to me, the goal is to win the conference. Then if Michigan can win the conference tournament, great but if they win the conference they'll be more than fine for the NCAA Tournament. And obviously the ultimate goal, the National Championship.

Please win tomorrow Michigan.

Right now notre dame leads state 1-0. The game is on CBSS. state is trying to hold onto their first round bye. Hope notre dame beats them.

notre dame is one game from being .500. No way in hell they make the NCAA Tournament unless they pull a 2009-10 Michigan and win the conference tournament.

northern right now is kicking lake state's ass. Doesn't really matter.

When I feel bad about tonight, I think about how bad the 5 hockey fans ohio actually has must feel. They have won ONE game in the 2012 calendar year. They went from running away with the conference and pretty much locking up a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament to sliding down the toilet in the standings and probably won't make the NCAA Tournament.

I have a gut feeling that Michigan is going to come out tomorrow and take bowling green to the shed.

This was not Michigan Hockey tonight. Absolutely wasn't. I expect Michigan to come and belt those SOBs tomorrow and secure home ice. If both Michigan and western win tomorrow, they will be tied at 50 points but Michigan would win the tiebreaker and get the 2 seed because they would have more conference wins than western.

in the season. Zero chance to win the CCHA, and of course out of the NCAA tournament. Senior night is tomorrow and they will give us a fight. We need to tear them apart tomorrow. I'll be there too. GO BLUE!

I am a very recent graduate of BG, and if I take anything away from their below average athletics, it's that their hockey program will play their ass off against ranked opponents. Tonight personally came as a shock to me. I expected them to get slaughtered by Michigan. Coach Bergeron gets these guys excited for these types of games. Although they are last in the conference, they somehow show up and play their asses off during these types of games. Since tomorrow is senior night, expect a similar effort. These guys play hard when a ranked opponent comes into town.Bergeron will expect and motivate a similar effort tomorrow night from the Falcons. It's a proud program, a proud fanbase, and a school looking for big wins. If BG beats Michigan again, that makes the season for them. Sad, I'm sure for most of you. But for BG, beating Notre Dame and Michigan (possibly twice) in the same season is absolutely huge.

My interests are torn. I remain as neutral as possible. This is difficult.

Go BG/Go Blue!

Absolutely abysmal performance by the defense. They had a ton of doorstep chances they failed to capitlize on that I can't believe we gave up to a team as bad as them. We also flubbed some great oppurtunities of our own, and what do you know, one Hunwick screw-up followed by a completely unacceptable turnover later and we've blown the game.

That pick on Merrill is the type of thing that gets pros sent to the minors for a while. We're not talking about a BG player doing his best Datsyuk impression, we're talking about a complete lack of attention and effort by him and he should be absolutely ashamed.

I hope and am relatively confident Red ripped them a new one in the locker room. If so, I predict we will make them look like a high school team tomorrow, and I hope they will use tonight as a lesson not to give less than 100% going into playoff season.

Seriously.  We played like garbage (from what it sounds) and lost to an inferior team.  This is an educational tool for our young men.  It doesn't matter how much the coaches tell them they have to play their hardest to win.  An embarrassing loss like this puts it back in perspective for the players.

I hate losing out on a league title, but if this helps us out in some intangible way in 4 weeks, then it's all good.

Anyone else think Merrill might be on his way out? It seems like he's been playing super unfocused the last weekend or two. I'm wondering if he's mentally checked out. Just a theory but it's very uncharacteristic for him to get torched on goals against teams like Northern and flippin BGSU. wtf?

But he's only been back for like 2 months and I think Merrill's the kind of kid that would focus on what he's doing regardless on if he was planning on leaving or not.  It definitely wouldn't surprise me if he left after the season, but I think he still wants to win NOW and is doing/going to do everything he can to win a few championships this season.  The whole D has been "uncharacteristic" lately, it's not like Merrill has been the only culprit, just the most obvious.  I think it's probably something to do with lack of focus, but probably more based on feelings of we're a lot better than you and relaxation than anything else.  That, or the entire D-corp is suffering from an unholy terror of a flu bug.

I think we have to give it another week or so, see if he doesn't get back on track, or more especially if the rest of the D cleans it up a bit, but he's still making sloppy mistakes, then maybe this has more truth.  But I'm more inclined to think it's just general laxity, with special emphasis on Merrill because he has the farthest to fall and he's the best to he's most susceptible to loosening up a bit.
