Michigan Hockey: National Championship Game Open Thread
UMD scores

Good season boys
Dead.
That last sequence was terrible. And where the fuck were our top line guys the whole game? O well I guess. Good run boys.
felt that coming when we couldn't clear the puck and get that line change.
damn, that hurts.
Yeah. I never take the pessimistic route, but I had a bad feeling when they couldn't achieve those two objectives.
My career second place finish continues
Story of my life, either last place or second place.
But I don't hate those guys the way I hate ND or NoDak. Still, FUCK!!!
so I don't know how to place this result. Are we happy to have gone this far or should we have beaten UMD?
This was an evenly matched opponent in a 1-game scenario. Sucks but can't be too upset with an OT loss in the nat'l championship.
i think was #16. were hovered around #5 all year.
damn me for trusting the espn announcer. UMD was top 10 too.
Life as a twenty-first century Michigan fan continues...
man. cant help but wonder when the next time is that i'll get to watch us in the title game...hopefully very soon. hunwick deserved better
there isn'y enough weed in the world to make this pain go away....................
the refs really laid an egg tonight. holy shit they were fucking awful.
great run, but damn we needed that. we lose a lot of SRs this year.
The guys worked hard and had a great run in the tournament, but it sucks to lose because of a matchup problem created by multiple icings. I know that is how hockey OT works, but it is still a bummer. The guys were already gassed from killing 9(!) penalties, and they couldn't connect on the long outlet passes.
I'm usually not one for moral victories, but hats off to the boys for killing all of those penalties. We definitely wouldn't have seen OT if it wasn't for that. Good run fellas.

I hate to admit it but after the second or third icing in a row, I realized that we stood a very good chance of losing very immediately. UMD had managed to get their number one line out on the ice, fresh and ready to go, and whatever line we had out there had been out there for a long while.
Honestly, I felt like they had out finessed us most of the game and they have better overall hockey athletes than us. We managed to hang in there by playing hard-nosed fundamental defense and Hunwick played a hell of a game again. Great season; disappointing end, but still a great season.
