Not trying to be a smartass, but 600 yards (for a WR, anyway) isn't really much to brag about.

with 1,330 yards; not sure who was #2 that year but I'm sure he had most of the targets.
Navarre has the single season passing record of 3,331 yards, but did not have three guys with more than 600 yards.
I think this shows that we spread the ball around to more than one primary receiver this year.

Edwards was passed by Jeremy Gallon.
Jason Avant was the #2 receiver behind Edwards in 2004 with 447 yards receiving.

Yes. Like a lot of young QBs, he tended to lock onto his #1 target frequently. Of course, Braylon was also really, really good.

Passing yards was the biggest difference in the QB stats...
2003 Navarre 270 456 59.2 3331 24 10 133.6
2004 Henne 240 399 60.2 2713 25 12 132.6

the Michigan passing game to attain that feat----I haven't seen it posted until now.
Not only that, but I love that they showed all three of them in the road uniforms. I've really grown to love those white uniform pants with Maize and Blue piping and hope they continue at least limited use of them.

More of a cherry-picked statistical achievement.
In the end, wins are all that matter.

Logged in just to point out that you are an ass. Well worth the time.

How does this not matter? We had basically Funchess and hardly anyone else last year as targets. We knew Darboh, Chesson, and Butt had the ability to do well but 1. They were never open and 2. Devin hardly had time to see them before the DL was in his face. This proves that great position coaches can really do a lot in a year's time.
Glad to see the receivers are getting the coaching they deserve and are playing to their potential. Are Chesson and Darboh coming back next year?

Both have the chance to be 5th year guys next year. Hard to imagine either one of them isn't coming back.

Not being able to run the ball does not automatically mean your passing game will be good.
There is no reason to scoff at this. It shows that Rudock was good at spreading the ball around.

You see, one man doesn't prospect from the ground. It takes a whole community of good people, such as these young men... and, uh, this is good. We stay together. We pray together, we work together and, if the good Lord smiles kindly on our endeavor, we share in the wealth together.

To all complaining about the "typo", haven't you heard that Harbaugh has switched these two to tight end (along with Gentry).

For anyone interested -
Amara Darboh - 703 yards receiving
Jehu Chesson - 646 yards receiving
Jake Butt - 620 yards receiving
That's 1,969 yards of Michigan's 2,812 total yards receiving, or 70.02% of the total. That's impressive output from three players really.
December 26th, 2015 at 11:42 PM ^
I'd imagine that that 70% figure is probably typical for the top three receiving targets on a team. What's unusual here is how equal the three were in production.

Next year should be even more productive while the running game will also be improved IMO. With O'Korn having a whole year in the program to learn and get used to the receivers, offense will be humming.

Chesson and Darboh block better than Funchess, therefore Chesson+ Darboh= Tight End.
