Michigan director of football operations has resigned
Didn't know if this was expected.

If you saw the press release earlier this week where Brady Hoke was bringing in his own guy, yes, this was expected.

though the train of thought in that thread was focused more on BKFinest than on Draper going bye bye.

...well mgoblog is the only site I read...

There are other sites?

The sites mentioned are without meaningful commentary. Even if Mgo remains only a place where news is discussed, it is nonetheless a centralized location where we can surely find any news. Is it easier to check 4-6 other sources (not to mention twitter) or Mgo after a day away from the computer? Definitely Mgo. We also receive comments from Tom/Brian/NotBkFinest that are worthy of a paywall on topics which are "secondhand".

those threads are the list self-policing itself. Without that level of participation, we would become one of the places you prefer to avoid.

MSN is my main page on my computer but if it isn't front page news I wont see it. However, I do check this site several times a day. I like them reposting stories from other sites so that I feel informed.

I question this sites credibility because there is zero contact info, but an interesting piece of info that could be true.
Draper’s resignation is not a surprise as insiders report that Athletic Director David Brandon was set to terminate his employment as he believed Draper was a media leak during the Rich Rodriguez firing fiasco.
It is believed that Draper was Fox 2′s source for most of its reporting during the 48 hour drama that unfolded before Rodriguez was fired as Head Coach at Michigan. Some believe that Brandon set a trap for Draper to test his loyalty and Draper failed badly when he leaked inside information to Fox 2 in Detroit.
Brandonhas been setting this “traps” since he arrived in Ann Arbor as Athletic Director and has weeded out many of the “leaks” within the athletic department at Michigan. The new mantra is “Those Who Stay Will Shut Up”

this position doesnt have a whole lot of involvement with the team. They are typically the person who books travel, sets up camps etc and community involvement.
A relative of mine has the same job @ MSU for the Volleyball team.

I've also heard that Draper is a complete asshole. Labadie on the other hand, was rather likable.

I hate to kick a guy while he's down but I've had to deal with the guy quite a few times over the last few years because of various University projects and I found him to be nothing but detestable. I remember him when he started 20 something years ago as a the video coordinator and he was an arrogant not particularly intelligent kid out of EMU. Apparently he never got smarter as he was fairly culpable in the NCAA fracas and by the reports posted on this site earlier in the year, it appears the arrogance only got worse.
Good riddance.
