Michigan as a Dark Horse

Submitted by RONick on
I am semi-superstitious about these things, and I don't like hearing my team I root for being mentioned as a favorite of any kind or a dark horse. And, boy is Michigan a sexy pick as a dark horse this year. I have heard it all over on ESPN radio and seen it at numerous places on the internet. Colin Cowherd is discussing it now on his show.

they might be mentioning them, but i can promise you NONE of them are putting michigan in the sweet 16. its getting to where every team (13 and up) gets some love somehwere so that someone can say "I told you So" but they all have the big guys winning.

I'll be amazed. Considering Clemson's all-out defensive pressure scheme, if Grady doesn't see significant minutes he might as well prepare his transfer papers. When you don't see a minute in a conference tourney game while David Merritt does, that's a pretty solid indicator the HC doesn't think much of you.

When UM shoots well, they can beat anyone. If they don't, they can lose to anyone. To me, that makes every game, within maybe ten percent, a tossup. So, to me, the odds of UM winning it all are about the same is winning six straight coin flips calling "heads," or six straight "reds" on the roulette table. It can happen, but it is not very likely. I will be happy if they win the first game. Sadly, though, the next game will be a de facto road game against Oklahoma. And that is where the other ten percent kicks in. I am very, very happy with this season, though, even if they go one and out. It's certainly a lot more than most people expected in November.

We will either have 25+ turnovers and go up in flames like our ships - or - We will handle the pressure (trust me Clemson will BRING it, it's all they're talking about down here) and Manny goes off HUGE driving to the hole/dishing to Sims inside. I don't think we can afford to "slow down the pace" and try half-court. The long rebounds off 3's will kill us with Clemson's transition game. If we can score easily, we can handle them defensively.
