Michigan Baseball tickets are $12 and under
We just finished #2 in the nation and got to the College World Series for the first time in 35 years.
We only averaged under 800 per game at Ray Fisher Stadium (capacity: 4,000)
You had a good time watching this team play, right? Come out to Ray Fisher Stadium next season. The hell with blowing over $100 going to watch the dismal MLB team down the road. You'll get a much better experience going to watch Michigan play. Night and day. And you won't spend over $50 on food either.
The most expensive seats are $12 (reserved chairback). The Michigan-OSU series will be at Ray Fisher Stadium next season and we will have 2/3 B1G games vs MSU at home as well.
Michigan also is going to get a return trip from Texas Tech (we played them back in March in Lubbock) in non-conference action during the regular season. So it'll be a CWS rematch.
The season starts in February and we don't play a home game until mid-March.
Season tickets for general admission bleacher seats are $40. And you'll get exclusive Michigan apparel just for signing on for the 2020 season per Bakich.
Hmm - apparel and WD. Checks out!
I bought season tickets just for that hat. I live in Maryland though, anyone want 1 GA season ticket? I'll mail it to you when I get em.
thinking of doing the same. Is this going to happen for sure? I know the coach mentioned it, but I didn’t see anything on MgoBlue about exclusive apparel/the hat. I’m willing to donate my tix as well.
Thanks
I saw confirmation somewhere that the marketing department okayed it.
There is some ambiguity though, they said the hats "would be made available to" season ticket owners, but that could be a hand out to the first 500 on a certain day, or it could be an additional purchase on top of the tickets, etc.
Regardless, I'm happy to give money to the program, I just really want that hat :D
interesting. I may hold off then. Thanks for the info.
I last made a game at Fisher in 2018. As luck would have it, I happened to go on a wonderful spring day in early May, in sharp contrast to the bitter cold day in South Bend the previous time I saw a Michigan baseball game in late April 2017
You're absolutely correct, WD, a much better bang-for-your-buck than going to Comerica.
Are the schedules already set for both Michigan baseball and softball for 2020? I definitely plan on going to both!
It will be interesting next year to see if attendance is up. I know I am going to more games. Weather will always be a factor.
Maybe the BTN will show a few more games instead of re-runs of the guy that buys other peoples stuff.
The past few years softball and baseball have been going on at the same time. I would love if softball and baseball would be on the same Saturday but at different times. Softball at noon, baseball at 3.
Yep. I live on the West Coast but I'll see if I can visit for some games when I'm in or around Michigan next year.
One of my regrets as a student is that I didn't go to enough baseball and hockey games. Trying to rectify that now...
Do I get the Great Lakes hat with season ticket purchase? Was Bakich authorized to make that offer? Legit, I would pay $40 for the hat, and give away the tickets to my fam (sorry, I live well over 2000 miles from A2 at this point).
I don't think anybody will quibble over who attends the games, as long as there are fans in the seats.
This is the real question. I’d pay $40 for the hat and somehow give my tickets up as I would never be able to attend.
If enough people are doing this, you all should coordinate together and see if a little league association in Ann Arbor would want tickets to give to teams/players to get them to go.
Great idea to get kids into U of M fandom at an early age!
I recently went to a Brewers game the following day to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game and I've already been to a Tigers game this year. Went with my wife and daughter and after tickets ,parking, food and drink you're looking at around $350 for a game.
I did have season tickets for Michigan baseball and softball I see now about 10 games a year, at least and it's a good quality game and you're close to the action and the price is right.
Go Blue, hope to see you all at Fisher next season
Comerica is very cheap. I can go to a game for $10 ticket, $10 gas, and nothing else. I’ll park somewhere for free and walk, and I sure as hell wont buy food or drink there.
Still most days I wouldn’t go to a Tigers game for free. I’ll definitely be going to some Uofm games next year. Hope we are good again. And I really hope we can start recruiting more elite talents.
Gucci, who did you piss off to get -99million MGoPoints?
God aka Brian
Or you can wait until the fourth inning and walk-in for free (yes I am frugal to the core). I’ve been to one or two games for the last six years and never spent a dime.
You’re the worst
I might be bad but not the “worst”... half of those games I come over after working a lacrosse game or a softball game and I can double dip on UM athletics. The other half I get done doing yard work and flip on WTKA and hear it’s a close game, on a beautiful day, so I ride my bike over for a few innings of free baseball. Just saying it’s an option.
True, the worst people are the ones who don't go at all. I'm sure the players would rather have non-paying people in the seats than no one at all.
I don't care how cold it is or who they're playing,
That 1st game at Fisher in March better be standing room only, Ann Arbor
My commute to the games is 1200 miles, so I can't attend.
Always an excuse. Anyway, East Quad may be across campus from the stadium, but it's not *that* far.
Who the heck pays $100 to watch the Tigers?
UM game would be awesome to see live. However, 35deg in March ain't my bag.
But you sure as hell would pack into the Big House like a sardine to watch a game in Oct or Nov when it's 35 and windy. The difference is...??
The difference is football.
Michigan Baseball has won 6 B1G Championship trophies (Regular Season + Tournament) since Michigan Football last won one B1G title. There’s another difference I guess.
Does that somehow make it football?
I wanted to get to baseball games this year, but the overlap with softball seemed very high. Really sucked.
should also be noted that UM staff can go for free (any sport except the big 3). I’m a staff member whose chosen to purchase softball season tickets- that’s how much it is worth it. Average cost per game is very low (softball and baseball).
Hoping for less overlap in the future
What does our schedule look like next season for the early road games?
Baseball games were on Vettix regularly this past season. I just might snag a game or two and come up from Dayton.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a school charge for baseball tickets. At Cal you could just walk in at will.
It's Cal. You can probably even do that for football.
Cal student tickets were pretty similar in price to Michigan's when I was there - of course this is when they had Rogers, Lynch, and a bunch of other NFL level guys playing against people like Reggie Bush and Harbaugh's Stanford teams.
The Cal Stadium experience is really wonderful. It's fairly small, the weather is great, and there are views of the Bay. Michigan should really do a home and away with Cal.
The Michigan-OSU series will be at Ray Fisher Stadium next season and we will have 2/3 B1G games vs MSU at home as well.
What the hell is with this scheduling? Playing both rivals at home one year and both away the following year? Fire Wardle.
Or send him to the Wardle Portal
I forgot how fun baseball can be until the last few weeks. Alas, my commute, like East Quad, would be ~1100 miles round trip. But I'll look into UVA baseball, as Charlottesville is only an hour away. Maybe I should email Bakich and have him set up a series with the Cav's?
It is 950 miles one-way trip. I think I am going to pass that offer. :(
