MSU ruined our chances at the playoff because beating OSU doesn't look nearly as good now.

Now we can just hope MSU makes up for it, loses to PSU and we see Stanford in a Rose Bowl.

Beat OSU and Iowa and we'd pass Stanford anyway. And now that MSU controls it's own destiny, even if we were ahead of Stanford right now, if we don't get a B1G Championship and Iowa win on the resume, Stanford would've just passed us right back with a Pac-12 Championship win.

on the M roster and I will let you do all the bitching you want about the young man. Have you taken the time to watch him play?  FYI, that conference has the second best talent in the nation to the SEC so he's not doing it w/friggin Madden.

If you look at our respective resumes, we have better loses but Stanford has better wins and plays in a deeper conference. I mean what's our best win, NW? They've won @USC, @WSU and UCLA. Plus Cal isn't a bad looking win because of Goff. We are NOT making the playoffs and even if we did we'd probably just get crushed by Clemson or 'Bama. I'd rather get a NY6 Bowl against Stanford or ND and get a win. Then we sign Gary, Nauta, Hardman, Daniels, Jackson and Walker and carry the momentum into next season.

...I see constant argument that ND would be voted in ahead of OK because of their relative games against Texas. It doesn't work with us w.r.t. Northwestern? Eh, who cares, just beat OSU and root for PSU, as distasteful as that may be (how do we get Sparty two games in a row with such a dilemma?).

prefer trying to win a couple games in the NIT compared to being a 10 seed in the NCAA tourney, too, huh?

I never understood a preference for beating lesser opponents instead of taking a shot at the best of the best.  Every single UM coach and player, to a man, would tell you they'd rather play in the playoffs against Clemson (very beatable) than play Stanford in the Rose Bowl. Let's just move to FCS and win every year! Yay!
