near as large. I know we are following the Alabama model but does anyone know how many other schools have this many support people? I am guessing this may be common in the SEC but maybe hasn't been the norm in the B1G.

From what I have read, the smaller staffs appear to have been normal for Michigan. Maybe this was Hoke's fault for not asking for a larger staff or it may have not been allowed by Brandon. Regardless, I'm sure Harbaugh insisted on it before agreeing to come to Michigan.

Must be an east coast thing too, I have always referred to the Oxford, Ohio based school as "Miami of Ohio". Long before, long before:) it was known as NTM. My son, a 1996 Michigan grad, applied to and was accepted to NTM. Chose M, big sports fan. And good student. Daughter blue too, 96.

nah, they're almost always called "Miami of Ohio" in a national athletic context (or "Miami (OH)" in print). Miami U/U of Miami is only an obvious disambiguation to NTM's alumni... after years of recruits calling us "Michigan University", it should be obvious to everyone that most people don't have a firm grasp on such distinctions anyway.
