You print it. I’ll buy it. Probably gift a few as well!
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:06 AM ^
You have caught my attention with this post. Yes. Please.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:07 AM ^
I'm sure it is. I'll stick with the cheaper version. Happy to wait until Seth makes an announcement.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:07 AM ^
It came up in some of the threads last week, but it sounds like yes. I'm planning on buying 2 or 3, 1 for myself and a couple gifts.

> Unreasonably priced National Championship sweatshirt I'd probably never wear outside of a Michigan game context
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:14 AM ^
I'm no publisher but my guess would be there's a bit of lag, time-wise, between confirming interest in the purchase of said book and the actual publication of said book.
But hey, that's just me. Perhaps "insta-book" is now a thing I missed.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:20 AM ^
It's called Grow-a-Book. Just add water!
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:24 AM ^
Is this sort of like how OSU is growing a team?
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:47 AM ^
Fair enough, especially after they couldn't make a go of Instant Cassettes:
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:26 AM ^
"When will then be now?"
"Soon"
January 23rd, 2024 at 12:07 PM ^
@ and as Southeast Michigan has a snow day, my kids are abt to be introduced to "The Schwartz"
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:54 AM ^
The Detroit Free Press already published and mailed their commemorative book, but of course it contains no real journalism....
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:19 AM ^
10/10 would buy
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:20 AM ^
Yes, I’d be interested in purchasing one.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:20 AM ^
If given the opportunity, I'll pre-order it.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:29 AM ^
I did sort of wonder why there wasn't a kickstarter or something. Isn't that what the HTTVs have or is that not the case anymore?
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:38 AM ^
Maybe Brian and Seth are looking for a publisher who can supply what they're looking for before they even start the kickstarter, so that they get an idea of how much they'd need to raise, what the unit price would be, etc.
A hardcover-type book would be new territory for this site right? I'm assuming they have to kind of develop the process.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:57 AM ^
Did they say it would be a hardcover? that would be sweet. I know it was suggested that they would be doing a 3 year retrospective, culminating in the national championship.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:59 AM ^
Brian said "unreasonably nice and expensive," which I interpret as hardcover.
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:41 AM ^
That is very much what I am hoping!!
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:07 AM ^
Right, I think he asked who would be interested in an "unreasonably nice and expensive" version, implying that they were already intending to do a less expensive version.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:29 AM ^
MY MONEY NEEDS SPENDING! Make this happen Seth and Brian! Pretty please...
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:34 AM ^
i would pay all the money for that book
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:36 AM ^
How many MGOPOINTS will this cost me?
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:38 AM ^
I don't read anything that isn't on a backlit screen.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:43 AM ^
I’m planning on buying two, one for me and my Dad…
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:44 AM ^
Take my money! I would be in for at least 2. I believe it was mentioned it would be a 2021-2023 "Year Book" which is double thumbs up!
I also love idea for the pre-sale incentive of a navy shirt with yellow silhouette of Roman Wilson's game/season saving Rose Bowl grab (replacing the jumpman logo on the left breast of the shirt), then all the helmet stickers the players EARNED from 2021-2023 on the front.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:49 AM ^
The famous quote of Michael Barrett on the back would also be nice "We're in the ass-kicking business, and business is booming"
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:47 AM ^
I'd like a shirt with just the 1004 helmet sticker on it.
January 23rd, 2024 at 9:55 AM ^
I currently have some money burning a whole in my pocket, seems like I know where I’m going to spend it now.
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:04 AM ^
If I had to guess, Brian & Co have gauged the interest and may be starting to get quotes on what a small production run of books might cost. Stuff takes time to get together. I'd bet another dollar that there may be a pre-order to confirm they actually have buyers for what I'm guessing would be $100+ book
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:12 AM ^
I'm interested as well!
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:26 AM ^
Yes take my money.
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:38 AM ^
I have a twitter acct but for some reason have chosen to do zero engagement except for the periodic Like (I mostly use it for more efficient reading of tweeted news).
So if this counts as a repository for alternative RTs, please count me in.
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:43 AM ^
All of the UFRs and game recaps included IN PRINT TO LIVE FOREVER would be so sweet
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:57 AM ^
how do you do indicate interest without using twitter
or did I just do that?
BOOM
January 23rd, 2024 at 10:57 AM ^
I see so many advertised from creep and det news so I’m really hoping and waiting for the mgoblog version instead. Needs to be large hard cover coffee table book style
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:18 AM ^
Yes it's happening. We're going all-out for a gorgeous hardcover thing that covers the two years leading up to the 2023 season and gives every contributor a profile at the back.
Notice how my content has slowed down? I spent most of yesterday putting together the cover and a tentative layout. We've got a size/design/cover design pretty much decided upon but I need to get a printer estimate on our specs.
We're reaching out to authors this week.
ETA for the finished version is this summer. I know the Free Press can stick photos and words into a book and send it to the publisher before they even know how the season ends with wide distribution because legacy media have a late Ancien Regime level of imperviousness from the market. But those of us who covered the team during the year feel compelled for some reason to actually put some kind of effort into a good product. If you can be patient I guarantee you'll want to open this thing in 20, 30 years just as much when you got it.
Just be prepared for a high price point, because we're not sparing expenses in the making of it.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:32 AM ^
Define "high". Because, uh, I'll probably still pay.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:41 AM ^
Awesome. Thanks in advance. Suggestion, maybe an obvious one, but some of the HTTV game reviews might be fun to compare to how they actually turned out.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:48 AM ^
Quality takes time. I look forward to having something new to help me re-live this year in the middle of the summer.
January 23rd, 2024 at 12:04 PM ^
The price point is totally worth it for what you are talking about putting together. This would be all kinds of awesome. I can’t wait for this!
January 23rd, 2024 at 5:41 PM ^
Yes please! This sounds amaizing!
January 24th, 2024 at 8:38 AM ^
Can't wait. I need this!
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:18 AM ^
I'm in if they do it.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:23 AM ^
Yes, a commemorative book would be nice. Perhaps with a taste of HTTV’s historical and technical coverage.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:54 AM ^
Hail yes!
January 23rd, 2024 at 1:58 PM ^
H A I L yes, I'd buy a special Championship 🏆 issue of HAIL TO THE VICTORS!
