Merry Christmas - Time to air your grievances

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone.

It's time to air you grievances on this Christmas Eve 2018.  What have you got?

Amen to #1. I’m just as guilty as anyone else, though I try. I’m not always successful but it’s amazing the difference when you’re not always “me first”. Quite often you get what you were going for anyway, and sometimes quite a bit more. It takes a conscious effort, though.

I’m more in the giving mood.

Thank you Michigan fan base for caring about this team as much as you do, for posting exciting pay news on Mgoblog the second it comes out, for UFRs throughout the season, for the day that the Hail magazine arrives each year, only outdone by the first game of the football season when I could swear, “This is the year.”

We care, maybe too much, but you can’t say this fan base doesn’t care and for that I salute you all, and look forward to breaking through in 2019.  Best wishes to you and your families this Christmas.

I'm at work right now, so that's pretty fucking annoying.  I'm leaving for the day around 1ish though to do my last min shopping.  Just need some stocking stuffers for Mrs. Hatter.  Maybe a new buttplug, some lube, ballgag, typical Christmas stuff.

It is annoying that like half the board treats any negative discussion about anything having to do with the football program as “trolling” even when there is an occurrence that warrants open objective discussion.  That is really not common in most fan bases and makes actual discussion difficult at times.

Also, Reggie Dunlop seemed like a dick for a while but now he seems cool.

Merry Christmas to everybody.  It is a great time of year.

I'm tired of all criticism of Pep being met with, "you can't prove Pep sucks!"

Guess what, dipshit? You can't prove he DOESN'T!

I’m weary of Coach Harbaugh being used as click bait. I’ve never seen anything from him to suggest he’s disingenuous or uncaring about his team, school, or fans. He has his eccentricities, what major D1 football coach doesn’t, but he has core ethical values and demonstrates them consistently. Fuck the lack of accountability on the internet.

I'll take a swing:

  • I think we can all agree players deserve more compensation, however I have grave concerns about making it an employer type relationship.  I don't think most people that support this realize the potential ramifications, which could include: Tim Tebow playing QB at Florida for 15 years, players getting cut or traded, players being taxed, etc.  I am in favor of the Olympic model and don't see what the harm would be of keeping things the same, but letting athletes do/have (legitimate) autograph shows a few times a year and pursue any (again legitimate) endorsement deals they can get
  • I have concerns about the general philosophy of Brown/Harbaugh moving forward.  It seems to me they have it backwards as to which side of the ball to be hyper aggressive on.  Completion percentages across all boards of football are at all-time highs for a reason (rule changes, better QB instruction at a younger age, QB friendly offenses, etc).  In the last two seasons, Brown's D has looked terrible in 2.5 games (first half of ND 2018, OSU 2018, Penn State 2017).  What happened in all 3 of those games?  Michigan got destroyed through the air.  Football is more and more about hitting big plays than ever before, and I don't feel we put ourselves in the best position on Defense to defend against them or to get more of them on offense.
  • Slow play on the golf course sucks.  When you make the PGA tour, you can take as much time as you want.  But since you aren't on the tour, hurry the hell up.
  • My employer sucks for making me work today
  • The timing of the Golden Tate trade was moronic.  Quinn could have gotten a third round pick for him before the season.  Why not do it then so you could've drated or signed a replacement?
  • OSU will take a hit under Day, but I do not think it will be large
  • The football schedule for next year terrifies me.  I see only 3 surefire wins.  Michigan cannot keep playing with fire against Indiana.
  • Thankfully Beilein put it to bed, but the talks of firing him were always silly.  The dude won the Big Ten with a starting lineup of Hardaway, Burke, Morgan, Novak and Douglas; none of which was above a 3 star recruit.  That was a league that had the following players in that year: Green, Payne, Sullinger, Craft, Buford, Jordan Taylor,  Hammons, Hummel, Oladipo, Zeller.  The league was solid, not quite as good as the following year, but still that was very impressive.
  • All the Detroit sports team suck and I am not happy about it

I feel compelled to respond to your last bullet.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY CONCUR.

I'm numb to the Lions sucking, but goddamn if I didn't say to my father-in-law 5 seconds prior, "here comes the hail Mary touchdown."

With the Pistons, it's the excruciating inconsistency. Some nights they look great, others hopeless. Griffin is playing the best ball of his career, Casey is the best coach they've had since LB, and still they lose to Atlanta  at home on Festivus? Come on.

As far as the Red Wings, I tuned in for the end of last night's game. Has any team given up more last-minute extra-man goals in the past few years? I cannot stand Blashill. I hope Quenneville takes the rest of the year off to re-charge, and then he and Stevie team up to get this franchise back where it belongs.

I actually liked the Tigers' deals for Mercer and Ross,  but yes, it's going to be another long summer.

Oh, and I also hate the fact that Twitter exists.

Merry Fucking Christmas.
