Nov. 24 vs. Tarleton State
Are we making up schools now? I feel like my knowledge of colleges and universities runs pretty deep (I know of Prairie View A&M), but I swear this school didn't exist until we scheduled a game against them.
I did google...they are out of Stephenville, TX to save you the time of doing what I already did.

Tarleton State.
They'd rather fight than switch---and charcoal is why.

Yep, was thinking Tareytons and Carltons and their old ad campaigns.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:22 PM ^
I admittedly never heard of them either, but I'm good with this tune-up before going to Chapel Hill.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:43 PM ^
To be fair, Tarleton State is less well known than Prairie View A & M
September 8th, 2021 at 5:48 PM ^
Everybody do the Tarleton
September 8th, 2021 at 8:45 PM ^
Tarleton State is replacing the previously scheduled game against Bishop Sycamore.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:01 PM ^
I refuse to believe there's a school called Tarleton State. I'm so confident it's fake that I won't even Google it. Maybe I'm obstinate, but it's simply against everything I stand for to believe in Tarleton State.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:33 PM ^
I think they get a lot of kids from Bishop Sycamore.
September 8th, 2021 at 7:03 PM ^
Not too surprising if you sit in the stadium and listen to the Slippery Rock score every week. Their opponent 50% of the time is a school name like Tarleton State, and you say, "where the hell is that?".
September 8th, 2021 at 5:05 PM ^
Can't wait. But, at Wayne State, that's kind of weird.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:15 PM ^
In honor of their new arena.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:54 PM ^
"I truly appreciate the willingness of Coach (Juwan) Howard and Warde to provide this opportunity to open our arena with the state's premier Division 1 program," Fournier said in a statement. "To me, it underscores their genuine support for the City of Detroit and our community.”
September 8th, 2021 at 7:11 PM ^
Oh that is fantastic phrasing!
September 8th, 2021 at 5:17 PM ^
Think this is right for the Big Ten schedule
Home single plays:
Minnesota, Northwestern, Maryland
Away single plays:
Wisconsin, Penn State, Indiana
Home and home:
MSU, OSU, Iowa, Nebraska, Purdue, Rutgers, Illinois
Probably two games against like the five other best teams, give or take Wisconsin this year.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:25 PM ^
Yeah that’s gotta be one of the tougher schedules in the league.
None of those home-only teams are that intimidating on the road, so no bullets dodged there. And like you said, 2 games against all the best teams…and still have to go to Trohl and Assembly
September 8th, 2021 at 6:13 PM ^
I hate when they play Minnesota at The Barn. I'm glad they're dodging that one.
September 11th, 2021 at 7:27 PM ^
No more Richard “Dick” Pitino in Minnesota. He’s New Mexico’s problem now.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:26 PM ^
I see us going 25-6 15-5 in the big ten.
September 8th, 2021 at 5:35 PM ^
I'd definitely take this prescription!
September 8th, 2021 at 6:23 PM ^
I'm hoping it'll be 27-4 (17-3).
I want to see us repeat as Big Ten Regular Season Champions.
September 8th, 2021 at 6:33 PM ^
15 wins should win the big ten IMO. Lots of good teams gonna beat each other up but I think we repeat as big ten champions
September 8th, 2021 at 8:43 PM ^
15-5 would have only won the Big Ten once out of the past four years (in 19-20 when State, Wisco, and Maryland all went 14-6 and split it three ways). Conference play is always a grind, but usually there's one team that gets through mostly unscathed and reaches 16+ wins
September 8th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
Didn’t realize that. Hopefully that team will be us. Basketball can’t start soon enough!!
September 8th, 2021 at 5:53 PM ^
Keep waiting for a year where the final regular season game is at home. Seems like it's been a LONG time...
Just went back and checked. It was 2015-16. So this is the sixth consecutive year that they are scheduled to finish on the road. :(
September 8th, 2021 at 6:34 PM ^
Annoyed our big ten schedule includes playing each of the contenders twice…particularly relative to Osu and Purdue.
September 8th, 2021 at 6:57 PM ^
Nothing to fear:
September 8th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
This is like the 4th year in a row where we end the season on the road. Not sure what it will take for the conference to give us a senior day on the last weekend of the season.
September 8th, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
That is a BRUTAL start. Could be 1-3 if we’re not careful.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:00 PM ^
Final regular season game on the road yet again. Screw the Big Ten. I bet Staee has the easiest conference schedule.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:39 PM ^
Anyone attending the two games in Vegas on the 11/19 and 11/21?
September 9th, 2021 at 11:24 AM ^
I am booked my flight and hotel. Staying at the Park. This will continue me and my buddies Thanksgiving Michigan Basketball journeys:
2017: Maui Classic
2018: Mohegan Sun
2019: Battle for Atlantis
2020: Damn you covid would have been in London (not thanksgiving, but close enough)
Plus all the times they played in New York/Brooklyn.
As a side note I have only seen them lose twice, LSU in 17, and once in NY against Villanova.
September 8th, 2021 at 10:06 PM ^
I’m gonna hit that exhibition at Wayne State. Kentucky, don’t run from this smoke!!
