Mayfield and Hudson Starting?

Submitted by Tyler1495 on

Just watched a video from James Yoder (I know not a huge fan of him). He basically said he's confident that Mayfield and Hudson will be the starters week 1. Does this show how badly JBB and Runyan developed over the summer? I am not confident with starting a freshman and a rs freshman on the road at ND in their first start.

Yoder flat makes stuff up. He has no contacts and no information. He has no idea what he's talking about, so he makes up insider-sounding stuff to prey on gullible fans who don't know better.

This isn't just "not a huge fan" stuff. He's a fraud.

Unfortunately, he stole this directly from Rivals this time.

So, this is the experimental stuff from the first 10-12 practices. Guys move around a lot in the first 10 days. I can say that one practice observer believes Runyan will win the LT spot. Yes, Mayfield is getting some run at RT with the ones. Will it last? We shall see.

...and if Hudson is as good as Warinner believes than I think they need to go with him from the beginning and let him grow into the position with game-time experience. And this should apply to other positions on the OL. If Filiaga is an option at RG put him there from the beginning and see. I would love to see this OL turn out to be Hudson, Bredeson, Ruiz, Filiaga and Mayfield.

Contrary to the partisan hype, the Notre Dame game is a throw away game for Michigan-in the bigger picture. Michigan can lose this game plus one other-not Ohio State and still be firmly in the NC picture.

Yea since Runyan best athlete oline why not put him at LT and jbb at RT? M finally started running ball with jbb last year and I think that would be most experienced line. Worries me to see mayfield or someone out of no where start like ulizio last year....bad choice

He's athletic but undersized.  He put on a bunch of weight in the off season and has playing experience.  His height may be more suited for guard, but there are too many OL who are more guards than tackles.  If you had to choose one to play tackle, it's often better to pick the more agile/athletic one.  And I have faith that Warinner can pick the best 5 for the OL.
