He talks us up when he's calling our games.

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets the season opener.

You said it nicely, Chuck.  Terrific that he is healthy.  But he was the worst GM in the history of the NFL, supported Paterno, and nobody in the BIG should have to listen to this d-bag.

Why doesn't he go work out West for one of those conferences?  People in Nevada and New Mexico probably may enjoy listening to him.  Folks in Michigan - not so much...

He probably "doesn't go work out West for one of those conferences" because he lives in Pennsylvania.  Traveling 4000+ miles round-trip every week isn't for everyone.

As for "supporting Paterno" - as best I know, there are minimal (if any?) examples of Millen doing that for 6+ years now.  He's not Franco Harris.

Yes, Millen was on ESPN supporting Paterno a few hours after the release of the Freeh Report.  I'd guess, in retrospect, he wishes he would have told ESPN "no, I'm not going on SportsCenter today, let me process this whole situation first."

I've forgiven Millen for that.  I've forgiven his Detroit Lions stint too.  Let him spend some of his twilight years calling Michigan vs Illinois football games on BTN.

What's wrong with you man?  Would you rather have Chuck Long or Glen Mason in the booth?  Millen is a good dude and a good analyst.  Not the greatest GM, but there isn't a GM that has ever "GM'ed" that could do anything to make the Lions a winner.

Good person. Shitty GM. Go get'em Matt. He likes Harbaugh. Gives Michigan a fair shake in his broadcasts.

No reason not to celebrate his return to work, glad he's doing well after his heart transplant and back to what he loves doing.

I'm not even mad anymore about his failures as Detroit Lions GM.  It really doesn't matter who is GM because as long as the Ford family owns the Lions, there is no hope.

I like how the article, when extolling Matt’s football career highlights, didn’t breath a word about his eight years running the Lions. We’ll always have a 0-16 season to share, Matt.*

* the 0-16 regular season was preceded by going 4-0 in the “exhibition” season.

Wow... Good for him.  He lucked out finding a donor...I hope he didn't cut the waiting list....

Say what you want about his commentating but Michigan always wins when he is color man playing trash teams on BTN.

Great to hear he is healthy.

I hate his announcing.  I think his insights are lame and his voice reminds me of the hope and disappointment his GM career put me through.

I think he’s a good commentator and I’m glad he’s healthy.  I don’t care about how bad of a gm he was in this context.  The only thing that really bothers me is him screaming gay slurs at Johnnie Morton

I share the sentiment of most others.  I am happy that he is healthy.  His rah rah old school way of promoting the Big 10 is nice but the guy doesn't seem to do his homework.  I can't get past the "experienced" Michigan line comment about a line that included 3 underclassmen.  Apparently the experienced benchmark includes starts in high school.

I’m glad he’s healthy enough to get back into it. He’s definitely a football guy. I’m glad to see him back in the booth. He’ll have some interesting comments - he’s been around.

Great!  Can't wait to hear Millen say, "ok, all you kids out there make sure you run with your eyes," and other such nuggets of dumb.

Good news for Mr. Millen about his health. Happy to hear he’s able to get back in the booth. That being said, I don’t listen to any of the analysis during Michigan football games. Even when the sound is on, I’m not listening.

Didn't even know he was having serious health issues.   Glad he has recovered to the point of working again.  What an incredible world we live in where you can get a new/used major organ installed and walk away. Whatever he ends up doing with BTN, hope his heart is in it.
