...Collin Farrel as opposed to Collin Ferrel is a much better actor than Walhberg...he was awesome in American Outlaws, Total Recall, Hart's War, Daredevil, SWAT and Miami Vice...and was the lead in every one of those cinematic masterpieces and was not part of collaborative casts in any of the movies...as opposed to Wahlberg. Give me a break...by the way In Bruges is such an overrated dark comedy, but if u didn't like The Fighter there is no point in arguing with you...it would be like trying to explain to a Buckeye grad that Michigan is a better academic institution than Ohio...they just don't get it.

So I wouldn't talk about anyone else being able to explain/understand.

Someone who thinks the best thing about The Fighter was Marky Mark isn't someone I'm going to take seriously on film. The Fighter was good in spite of him. Because everyone else was great.  Much like The Departed.

And a number of the movies you mention here are no worse than things like Invincible, Three Kings, or Four Brothers.(Frankly, if you want to talk overrated, Boogie Nights should be on your list).

where should I start?  First, Three Kings was probably the most critically acclaimed film that Wahlberg has ever been in, and probably his best role.  Barry Pepper.   Man, if you think I was comparing Marky to Pepper as an insult you drastically misread what I was trying to say.  First of all, Pepper has been in two flat out better movies than Wahlberg has, 25th Hour and SPR, and was better in both of those movies than Wahlberg has been in his career.  That does not mean that Pepper can carry a movie.  Both actors have outstanding range, that being that they can play a lot of roles, but neither has the depth or can create the character detail necessary to play a lead role and do it well.  Norton, Clooney, Pitt, Freeman, Washington, Crowe, these guys literally become the character they are playing, and their presence alone can make a movie.  That is what Marky Mark lacks.  Look, there are great actors that cannot lead.  Ed Harris may be one of my favorite actors alive and I cannot remember him playing a lead role in his career.  He knows his limitations.  Directors took note of Wahlberg's performance in The Fighter.  He was actually quite lost and he is lucky he had the Dark Knight there to carry him to the finish line.  He is a good actor.  That statement is true.  Anything more is hyperbole.  But he is boss for hanging with the crew in The Big House.

and honestly I'm not cultured enough to be a movie critic but every movie I have seen with him in it I have enjoyed. I would agree that he seems to be better in movies where he isn't the lead, but again, that comes from a guy who like to watch films to escape reality and not to critique their finer points.

In one of Devin Gardners videos, and quoted in a DetNews article, it says Wahlberg and Gardner have a $500 bet on a 50 yard field goal. They could be joking, but isn't that against NCAA rules??

Yeah I noticed that but the DetNews article clearly says Wahlberg and Gardner are betting
By the latter, Gardner was referring to another Instagram video he posted, which starts with Wahlberg throwing to Gardner near midfield, then declaring “We got a $500 bet; he (Gardner) bet $500 that he could hit a 50-yarder (field goal).

"The video then cuts to Gardner preparing to kick the ball, and Wahlberg saying, “It’s not gonna happen; I’ll give him three tries.”

Gardner then kicks the ball, which would have sailed through the uprights — if the goalpost was 20 yards closer, 8 feet lower and on the left side of the end zone. Wahlberg then looks into the camera and declares “Go Blue.”

...what are the odds that Gardner gets suspended for this activity?  Given Michigan's reputation, I'd expect that there will have to at least be an internal investigation.  Posting stuff like that on the web is really foolish.

Anyone who's spent any time around Devin can identify his voice/laugh - it's very distinctive, and he's always joking around so you get to know it well. I'll bet much more than Wahlberg's $500 that's him talking to Mark about the bet, and then laughing as the kicked ball sails over his head. I don't know where the DetNews got their info but they are clearly wrong in this case.

Pretty sure he's a Pats fan to the extent that Tom Brady was on Entourage. It'd be cool if they came to a game together this fall.

I absolutely love that Lewan is rocking the sky-blue tank. It would be just wrong to see Lewan dressed like everyone else. Being 6'7" (or 8) and massively built doesn't make you stand out enough.
