M Baseball in my Backyard Tonight
I'm fired up that the Wolverines visit Southwest Florida today to take on the local university - Florida Gulf Coast University.
To make it even better, FGCU has asked me to throw out the first pitch . . and yes I will be sporting maize and blue while on the mound.
This is not as rude as it sounds, I assure you, but it must be asked:
Who are you, and why would you throw out the first pitch at a baseball game?
Not rude at all on your part. I sit in the board for the FGCU athletic department and my company handles all of their sports marketing. They know how big of a Michigan fan I am and I think this is their way of saying thanks for the work I do on behalf of the university.
Little do they know I'm planning on channeling my inner Nuke Laloosh and firing one at the mascot!
Photos please!
are awesome. Please post pictures!
I'm a PR guy, I interned in an SID, and I want to do sports marketing and promotion.
If I ever move to Florida, you owe me a job. :P
"What are you doin' out here? I'm cruisin'"
"I want you throw the next one at the mascot."
"Why? I'm finally throwin' it where I want to throw it."
"Just hit the [BLEEPING] bull! Trust me."
"You're the boss."
Awesome!! Good luck tonight.
Will they let you throw from the mound or are they asking you to throw from in front of the mound?
I actually live up the road from you, about 40 miles.
That's pretty cool. Let us know how it goes. And give 'em the heater!
Unless they're first pitch, fastball hitters....those guys are looking for heat!
TTU didn't ask me to throw out the first pitch. Instead, I got a dong punch.
I should try to do this when they play Coastal Carolina in two weeks. I've been working at Coastal for 14 months and my office is about 100 yards from home plate of their baseball field.
It's the least they could do after telling during the entire fall that Coastal's FCS football team could beat Michigan.
Does Reed Baker play baseball for them as well?
and I will return with Iphone photographic/video evidence
For those not lucky enough to be there in FLA, you can still follow action at:

They are going with line up with Crank in LF and (True Freshman) Luther at DH. I am predicting Luther has break out game tonight, we'll see.
Go Blue!
