M Baseball beats Nebraska 18-8. 2nd game at 6 pm.

Results from the first game and a start for a second thread. Time for the second game is per the Detroit News. It may be different depending on the Minnesota-OSU game, I suppose.

Minnesota just beat The Ohio State which is good because first anytime The Ohio State loses that is good and second it forces them to play again late tonight so if we win this evening our opponent will be tired.

B1G site says 10:30 but the curfew is confirmed as 9:59 first pitch... maybe they’re making an exception for the tournament.  Back 2-3 years ago there was a controversy because it was about 9:15 when the last game finished but they refused to allow the next game to  start.

Either way it is not a good situation for minn or the other team.... finish a game at 2-3am or get rest and play two.

So, the baseball tournament is in Omaha through 2022?!?!?!  5 straight years of the tournament being in the least centrally located place it could possibly be.

Imagine if the tournament was at all central geographically and UM plays OSU tomorrow... I'd be there in a heartbeat.

How stupid.

Yeah, it's going to be in Nebraska or Minnesota every year for almost 10 years.  It's ridiculous.

I understand this is a great college baseball venue, but they need to rotate it.  One problem is that you can't put it in Indianapolis because of the Indy 500.

So...Toledo?  Columbus?  Fort Wayne?

Yeah, that's worked real well for NCAA hockey -- put post-season tournaments where no locals give a shit.

Delany has tried rotating the tournament -- Omaha hosted in 2014 and 2016.  Huge crowds in 2014, decent crowds in 2016 despite NU going 0-2.  2015 was at Target Field and 2017 was in Bloomington.  Attendance sucked.

Omaha has hosted the College World Series since 1950.   Their fans show up, regardless of whether the Huskers are there.

No brainer to give Omaha a 5-year deal in 2018 through 2022.   It's about selling tickets.

Tough missed opportunity in that half inning. Didn't necessarily factor in but the called second strike on Bullock was brutal. Anyone else think the strike zone is smaller because the games are behind schedule tonight?

Despite the 3 runs that was an outstanding outing by Angelo.  The first 2 were on consecutive difficult but makeable plays, the last one was after the batter was struck out but the ump fucked him over.

well done Angelo.  Grab the bats boys, this one is far from over.
