Looks like Tuttle did not get another year.

That hurts. Of the people we know about, I'd say Tuttle was the best option as our 2024 starting QB. In terms of winning games next year is concerned, I mean. Obviously Jadyn Davis is better for the future..

He has said several times that he's seeking the 6th year and if he doesn't get it, it has been indicated to him that he can come back to Michigan in a coaching role.

Nothing this tweet leads me to believe that anything has changed with that plan.

What warms my heart is how badly he wants to be at Michigan.  This guy transferred to Michigan in December of 2022...just over a year ago, and yet, he's ALL IN.

Meanwhile, our coach...neeeeeevermind, just kidding guys!

I was going to make a joke about the picture of him and Warde...but then I saw the picture of him and JJ and now I want to cry.

That team was so fucking special.  The only reason I won't say "once in a lifetime" is because I'm too selfish (and maybe naive) to think that can only happen once in a lifetime.

I'll say it again, this dude was around for 13 months and it sounds like his entire life changed.  That just doesn't happen everywhere.  13 months.  This isn't Michael Barrett we're talking about.  Jack showed up, just over a year ago and now he's trying to do everything he can to never leave.

lol I’m trying to retire to Ann Arbor. We’re thinking sell our house in Oakland County, but something low maintenance in AA, and then upgrading our Florida place where we’ll be for the winter. If it wasn’t for our family’s having been in Oakland, my Sparty wife (who actually loves AA as a city) were very strongly considering AA and had some houses lined up with Huron as the HS that we were considering putting offers in on back in the day.

Someone started a thread and asked who on the 2023 would be the next coach at Michigan.

I knew everyone was going to say Sainristil, Barrett, and Corum...but I took the question as literal and I answered, "Jack Tuttle."

In part, because I knew he wanted to coach...but also because I knew he wanted to coach (*insert Lloyd Carr voice*) "at...MICHIGAN."

The only thing missing from the championship game was JJ coming off the field for a curtain call, then Tuttle coming in and taking the last snaps. For a guy who probably won't play in the pros, it would have been a nice way to end his career.

Although being a member of the national championship team isn't exactly a poke in the eye.

When I was in school, there was a Michigan Video Yearbook my senior year in addition to a regular yearbook. It had a soundtrack and one of the songs was "My Ever Changing Moods" by The Style Council. One of the lyrics was, "I wish to stay forever...". Hopefully he can.

this may say something good about the the QB competition for next year.  I am in the camp of we good and we gonna win enough games to get in the playoff.

i see what you are saying...hopefully the tagline was a bit misleading/trickeration and he's back.

It literally says “no matter what’s next, I will continue to work hard for you.” That implies he doesn’t know what is next, and considering the two options were a 6th year of eligibility or a spot on the coaching staff, it’s safe to say he hasn’t heard on his waiver yet.

I’m not sure why he wouldn’t be able to receive a 7th year. Seems similar to Bowman. For Tuttle:

18: RS

19: RS Fr

20: RS So

21: RS So

22: RS Jr (played in one game; got injured.)

Only hold up is that he was injured in Week 10. Bowman threw over 100 passes in 18, 19, and played in more than 4 games in 22 and 23.

Unless someone shocking hits the portal after spring ball, I think we’re heading towards Orji time, full time.

Interesting thought exercise: Cade might’ve resumed his position as Michigan’s starting QB next year had he stayed. But I wonder if it was best for the culture that he left (it’s at least been alluded to that this was the case).

The issue is, we have no idea how good our running game will be next year. Our top 6 OL are gone, and while I have the utmost faith in Sherrone Moore and the depth they’ve built on the OL, that’s a tall task to replace those guys. Priebe should help but it’s a total guess as to how good they’ll be up front.

The other side of that is Edwards’ lack of down to down success. He gets stuffed quite a bit and it’s not like we have JJ back there to punish defenses getting nosy in the run game. Stacking the box and asking Michigan’s QB to beat you just got a whole lot easier with JJ and our top two WRs leaving. I don’t think many teams are too scared of Orji/Denegal throwing to two sub 6’ WRs in man coverage. Look for A LOT of 8 man boxes next year.

I noticed Ohio State had a few guys declare for the draft then decide to stay another year. I know we don't do pay 4 play but I thought the goal was to retain not saying we haven't. I'm not arguing that.

I'm just asking.....can we not put a massive NIL package (insurance against injury) together to at least get JJ to listen?

Is there a deadline to return? Maybe if Harbaugh resigns that might help.
