LOL Peoples-Jones TD pose was a sick troll

Might be the second greatest TD pose in Michigan football history.

I did not notice it live, I did realize it on a replay after the game. If I may provide DPJ some constructive criticism, his head tilt is way too far to the right. This still shot captures him with his head more upright, as it should be. He probably should have also grown a thick beard ahead of the game but that's okay.

Brandy had a great Sparty/squirrel troll too.

My GoogleTV feed went out just before the DPJ snatch and dash, so I turned to the WTKA internet feed to catch the rest of the game.  At some point, Brandy pointed out the squirrel that dashed across the field,

"Had more yards on the ground than Sparty!"

Epic.

Switches back and forth between the Sparty and Michigan radio feeds. My personal favorite is when Sparty fumbles the punt return. I don’t think it even hit the ground—Hewlett got it and then is surrounded by the entire Wolverines roster. “Blaha—the ball comes loose...I don’t know who has it...”

I noted this morning that it was great work by the Fox director to get the shot and great work by DPJ to nonchalantly pretend like he didn't know exactly where the cameraman was.

My initial reaction to his celebration was a sass filled “finally, I’ve been waiting for you to throw me a bomb all year” with hands on his hips and everything. All in good fun. But the trophy pose was a very good idea!

Actually, the image of that trophy, being seared into my mind because I firmly believe it is an Ann Arbor resident and we have this team about an hour away that so rudely wishes to dispossess us of it (and sadly has quite a bit lately), is the first thing I saw when DPJ struck that pose.

Loved the pose. But, the confidence is the thing I loved the most. Michigan seemed to hav e been lacking that elite mentality at times in the past. I take it as a very positive development.

There were years when Michigan won when they didn't even bother taking it home with them.  MSU would paint the score and bring it to the game the following year.  Bo was 17-4 against MSU and I've never seen a picture of him with it.  The only thing Lloyd ever said about it was that it was the ugliest trophy in college football.  It took a dickhead like Dantonio to really appreciate winning that thing.

It was a break from tradition to see the players parading it around the stadium yesterday.  That is never done when Michigan wins.  It's always presented in the lockeroom after the game.

It's a hideously ugly trophy.

What could be more satisfying than forcing your rival to display a symbol of their own ineptitude?  It's the same reasoning as making a wager that the loser has to wear the winning team's jersey, sign their fight song, etc.

Don't really understand what you mean by "troll." Great celebratory pose but not a troll any more than doing the Heisman pose is trolling.

Doing the Bunyan pose is trolling when you're doing it in a stadium filled with the only people on the planet who care about it.

It'd be like Woodson doing a Heisman pose in a game against Peyton Manning.  Which would have been epic -- and trolling.
