Les Miles is The Idea Still in the Back of His Head?

With two losing back to back seasons at Michigan Rich Rodriguez has now had consecutive missed bowls. Michigan still has yet to reach a .500 to end the season and has only beaten 3 Big Ten teams in two years. If worse comes to worse next season and he is forced to leave would it be so bold to say that Les Miles might still be interested in the job? Miles currently has lead LSU to consecutive bowl games, has a record of 49-12, 4 winning seasons and a national championship. However after losing to Ole Miss and being dropped from the BCS with 3 losses and has a 3-4 conference record in 2009. This season LSU will not be going to a major bowl. It's safe to say LSU has had offensive problems this year and losing games they should not have. The question now is if LSU were to decline and the Michigan job were to open would Miles still be considered a reasonable choice to coach the Wolverines should Rodriguez have to leave?

+1 for the Most Interesting Man in the World. "All girls are bi-sexual. You buy them stuff, they get sexual." LOL at this too, although I don't think women are actually "turned on" by money - I think they do it out of obligation, a return for the dude spending the cash. Thus she's not really having a good time and might be faking it (!). :( Are there any women on MGoBlog (that's a question in itself) that would like to comment on this?

Yeah, I got that, and it's not the point. The point is Rich Rod hasn't shown much the past two years to indicate that he's capable of being a great coach in the big leagues, whereas Kelly still has that potential. I'm not saying it would be prudent to get rid of Rodriguez, or that he won't turn things around eventually, but lets not pretend that other people aren't looking like they would be/would've been better options (and at the very least couldn't have done worse up to this point).

Rich Rod's staff gave us: Gallon: future 1st ballot hall of famer in life and the NFL, Justin Turner, Odoms, Roh, Roy, Speed at the D-line, Tate, Shoelace and Barwis. That's just off the top of my head...the wins will follow. To answer your hypothetical question...Miles brings in great assistant coaches, so that would be nice. But he will never be here as a coach. Justin Turner and Jeremy Gallon will make sure of it.

himself a reasonable choice. Who's doing the considering? Do you mean the adminstration? The fan base? Me? ESPN? Lot's of opinions, I suspect. I'd guess he'd be on some hypethical list if your hypothetical scenario were to play out in the next 2-3 years. Don't know how high or low on that list, but he'd be on it. Beyond that, tough to speculate.

Can get things turned around next year. His record shows he turns programs around in the 3rd year. A great off season of recruiting and commitments will definitely help. We need a stronger defense and a bigger offensive line to help give Tate and Denard time in the snap. Good blocking wins games.

I'll bite. I was down in that territory this summer, and before the season there is a growing community that wants him out and Ole Miss certainly isn't helping. It would certainly be interesting if both RR here and Les at LSU fall out of favor and both programs look else where. Who knows. Les is also 10 years older than RR so he wouldn't be a long term option. What I do Know- RR is our coach. Support him, love him. He will turn the thing around. In two years if we're hovering around .500 still then let's ask the questions. Fair?

which is the only place where RichRod will not become Michigan's next NC-winning head coach, would Jim Harbaugh be higher on a list including Miles? Since Harbaugh actually has to recruit student/athletes, whereas Miles only has to do half the job?

I give this a 9 out of 10 on the "Posts That Serve No Useful Purpose" scale. Seriously though, is this what you are thinking about right now? "Hmm when Michigan has another terrible year next year and we fire RR, do you think Miles will be on the list of replacements?" I'm speechless.

Not Les...that Ship has sailed...figuratively as well as literally. He is also about 58 years old and probably not a good long term fit for the program. Jim Harbaugh is a MUCH better fit. Young, brash, innovative, not afraid of anyone. Doesnt make excuses. Bring his smash mouth Bo Style Football back to the Big Ten and watch Michigan Soar and Tressel Tumble. People like Danny Hope with his gay handlebar mustache would never dare to challenge Jim Harbaugh like he did to Rich Rod. Harbaugh is the long term answer/antidote for Michigan's current football woes. He comes from a long lineage of coaches in his family and through Glenn Schembechler. The Ohio State game is like "Christmas" to Jim. He gets it. He is the future of this program.

Bring his smash mouth Bo Style Football back to the Big Ten and watch Michigan Soar and Tressel Tumble. And I agree Harbaugh would be a good choice he does fit well in our program and I do like his style of play. But I want to see Rich succeed here with this team. There is so much potential with these players and each one has a special talent and gift which with time will become even stronger. Once Rodriguez gets the right pieces he needs to this puzzle he will put together a winning team and program again. It all comes with time.

Bo ran the option for 75% of his tenure at Michigan. Oops, sorry for knowing the history of our program instead of conflating Moeller and Carr with Bo like most of these jackholes who insist "BO WOULD BE SHITTING HIS PANTS IF HE SAW THIS SHIT"

One, I have heard that Bo was actually a fan of the spread option offense and of Rodriguez in particular. Of course that cannot be confirmed, but I believe it to be true. Two, I contend that were Bo a coach today, he would be running an offense similar to the spread option as it is primarily a running offense. When run properly is is a 70/30 run/pass split. The only piece of it that Bo would not like is that time of possession is not as important (at least in RR's version).

Are you implying that Harbaugh wouldn't be afraid to fight Danny Hope and that will lead to victories? Or are you just trying to vent off some of your pent up homophobia? This garbage is difficult to read. And if it was all about personal confrontation between coaches, Tressel doesn't exactly cut an imposing figure to lash out at his opposing coaches in the media, but the guy in the sweater vest wins quite often. (But he did lose to Danny Hope and his "gay handlebar mustache", so maybe you have a point.)

Yes, because personally, I think nothing shouts out "We're the leaders and best" like hiring a guy that was fired by LSU. Miles won't last more than another couple of years in Baton Rouge.

but, I don't think that Miles would take a $2M per year pay cut and/or the Colorado would pay Miles $4M+ per year to make that happen. Now if LSU (or its boosters) decide to get rid of Miles, then it is a different story. Background: Colorado's athletic department's finances are a mess and they are and have been losing money for a while. It was specualted that Hawkins wouldn't be fired this year as they cannot afford the buyout and the cost of a new coach.
