Leon McQuay (likely) to visit Michigan again
Per Tremendous:
Newly minted five-star DB Leon McQuay tells me when he's likely to visit Ann Arbor again: bit.ly/PrCdVt
— Steve Lorenz (@TremendousUM) August 20, 2012
The last two spots seem to be being held for a combination of Treadwell and either Green and McQuay, which would give us two more 5-star players (assuming Treadwell get's the bump, as he is currently the highest ranked four star player) to add to our already spectacular 2013 class.

That's Tremendous news!

Garnett and Kozan, we still have a long way to go until signing day.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:07 PM ^
Why did you get your hopes up with Kozan? He never really wanted to come here and whatever quotes were out there on him weren't glowing towards Michigan. Especially when juxtaposed to Garnett (which I think was the "shocker" of the 2012 class).

5 star DB? Yes please.
I thought around the BBQ the thought was that FSU replaced Michigan in Leon's top 3?

From Sam Webb's article. Not that I'm complaining, though, Leon supposedly lit it up @ Gridiron Kings..
August 20th, 2012 at 2:49 PM ^
We were replaced after the BBQ becuase I think the coaches told him that there might not be a spot for him if he sticks to his timeline.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:17 PM ^
Personally, I'll be happy if one of the three is part of the class. That said I doubt we get any of them. Last two spots will probably go towards the Dennis Norfleet/Willie Henry/Drake Johnson "we really like your Senior film" memorial scholarship awards and I am more than happy with that as I think grabbing a couple of sleepers/late risers is just good business anyway.

"Doubt" he says. Treadwell has consistently claimed Michigan as his #1 and has yet to change his stance on that matter, and it seems the only competition we have for Green is Auburn (also must note that Dawson has tweeted consistently that he thinks Green is coming to Michigan, most recent being this weekend). AND Mcquay, the only dude who doesn't have Michigan is his top three (who did before we sort of told him we were full at the moment), well... his top 3 is currently USC (presumably full at 18), Vandy (5 DB commits), and FSU (the team who replaced Michigan). I think that of the three, McQuay is the least likely to commit, but I still think there's a pretty good shot at that one, especially since he is planning on an official to Michigan per Tremendous today.
That being said, I agree with everything else.

"Vandy (5 DB commits)"
We also have 5 DB commits.

I was attempting to build up some confidence in the guy... but then Mr. "Smarty-pants" TrueBlue had to run his yapper. Thanks! 'Preciatecha!

Hoke needs to dangle the number 2 jersey in front of him again, and advise him that he is a bigger, stronger, faster, and more versatile version of Woodson. In fact, maybe Woodson can be on campus that day to tell him that himself.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:32 PM ^
That would be a lie and honest Chuck is no liar.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:33 PM ^
You could just get Fred Jackson to do it.

Fred Jackson probably tells those things to walk-ons, while keeping a straight face...

I don't ever see Dymonte playing RB in college, at least not on a regular basis; He's just too tall and lanky, doesn't have the prototypical RB physique, plus he has a defensive mentality. I think his meal ticket is on defense. He has a chance to be a great safety at M.
I know Dymonte is an excellent HS running back, but, to be frank, He ain't Hoke's type at RB.
Charles Woodson was a phenomenal RB in HS, but like Dymonte Thomas, his heart was on defense, also his body type wasn't built for the rigors of the RB position. I'm not saying Charles or Dymonte couldn't play college RB, but long term, they're both better served on D.
August 20th, 2012 at 3:38 PM ^
He's not talking about Dymonte, he's talking about Smith and Shallman.

August 20th, 2012 at 3:53 PM ^
I think that Treadwell/Baily is the biggest need, and after that, I would gladly take anyone from the Mathis/Green/McQuay group.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:52 PM ^
on the Rivals board were saying that they expect Green to commit to Auburn at half time of his next game. I don't think its true (at least I hope not) but take it fwiw.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:58 PM ^
I guess it's something to keep an eye on, but honestly I doubt it. Fan boards have a penchant to jump the gun on those kind of things. Except MGoBlog, we would never do that.
August 20th, 2012 at 3:12 PM ^
Agreed. Their fans were probably on our site after the BBQ visit and were extremely worried.
August 20th, 2012 at 5:03 PM ^
This would be a fantastic pick up, he's pretty much ready made. Physical down hill defensive backs are hard to come by.
August 20th, 2012 at 5:32 PM ^
Dont forget those ups n long arms...and the fro/chop combo?? Cmon bro this kids been tops on my wishlist forever...except Treadwell. Glad to hear we're still goin after him.

is a good back. He can definitely succeed on the college level. He fits Hoke's standards too. He's also a consistant 4 star I think. Greens just a better than him, but I'd be fine if we brought in LT and McQuay and had DeVeon be the future RB. Still think the coaches should make Shallman a FB, especially if we get Green.
