Kyle Prater drops us, Luc not looking good
Per ESPN.com, it looks like Kyle Prater cut us from his final list when he trimmed to 6.
Also, Jeff Luc said he is looking at 4 southern schools and maybe a few others. Doesn't sound good

Prater is no surprise as we already have WR covered in this recruiting class. Luc was probably a long shot to begin with and the silver lining in this one is he also has eliminated OSU from the looks of things.
it looked very good for us at ANY point in time. Oh well.
we have 5 WR in the 2010 class we dont need anymore. our class is starting to fill up and we have other positions that need filing.
We don't NEED another body, but man would I WANT him if we had the chance. It's hard to overestimate the impact of a top-notch receiver.
Luc is doubtful to leave florida let alone the south, the Prater news was more surprising to me
It really shouldnt be if you read up on his recruiting much. With WR already addressed we have turned our attention elsewhere and he has too.
I don't think this is the case.
Despite our receiver glut at this point, I think we kept recruiting him and would have made space for one of the top rising senior WR recruits in the country...
I disagree. So lets agree to disagree since neither of us have inside access to Coach Rodriguez and his program : )
I realize that Prater is the #1 WR in the country. However to sign him we would almost certainly have to rescind an offer to one of the other WR's which would give us more bad press.
We have 16 commits already and we still need a myriad of defensive players. Im just saying that WR is probably not our top priority right now considering all of our needs on defense and the commitments of Miller and Jackson among others.
I didnt explain myself well at all and I apologize for that. I understand your points and they are well taken
No, they wouldn't rescind the offer, but the staff will tell a player that they're moving him to another position or stop recruiting him. You never turn down talent like Prater. The coaching staff isn't gping to pull a scholarship offer unless the kid fucks up big time.
Ok I will take the opinion of many versus my own and concede this point. The argument is, however, irrelevant considering we have been eliminated.
Oh my mistake, who would seriously want the #1 WR in the country in their class next year.
As stated many times, even on this site, Prater is the #1 reciever in the class and M was still recruiting hard. Too bad we couldn't land him though.
I really believed UM was going to be a contender
Luc is and always has been another random pipe dream by Michigan fans who long for star linebackers and suspend belief and reality in order to convince themselves he was a possibility.
I gave you -1 points only because you accurately described myself.
+1 for knowing me so well. But man would it be nice to finally get a couple of absolute studs at LB. I'd be content though if we could get a safety like Taylor Mays. Love seeing some of his hits.
half as good as Taylor Mays instead of ones that we have to make up stats for I.E. Yards after Mundy (YAM)
Jelani Jenkins. Therefore, he's our pipe dream and he'll go to Florida.
Not every five star can commit to Michigan, sorry guys.
I'm not from Florida, but does anyone else think that a high school called "Treasure Coast" sounds awesome?
As for the OP, i think that until we prove that we're going to be passing more than RR did at WVU (i know we will be, but do recruits?), and shake loose some of the logjam at WR, there is no reason to think any premiere receiver from outside MI would strongly consider us.
Edit: and by "premiere" i mean someone with multiple elite level scholly's who already thinks he's destined to play on Sundays
I say give it a year. These recruits are coming off a season in which they saw Threet and Sheridan "throwing" passes to WR's. Once the quaterback position is more stable and loaded with more talent the WR prospects will see that they come in and star for us.
I believe the only reason WVU didnt throw that much under RR is they did not have a Dual Threat QB who could pass regularly. Pat White was great but he did not have the accuracy or arm strength to be a true dual threat. At UofM RR will be able to recruit QB's like Gardner and Forcier who can pass well and are true dual threat qb's. Its just a matter of time.
Treasure Coast High School has a unique dress code involving corsets and bandanas.
Ricardo Miller says hello.
wow that is so depressing to be so accurately summed up as a person by my irrational hopes for linebacker recruiting. Im serious. I wanted to get Shayne Hale so bad two years ago
Hah, Hale was actually one of the guys I really wanted too. There have been a lot of swings and misses in recruiting over the years at that position, that's for sure.
would've looked great in a winged helmet this year.
*sighs*
I still remember how many were convinced Marquise Hill was coming here. For a school that seems to have such a longtime reputation for strong defense (in some ways more of a holdover from Bo's years than a consistent indication of reality), it is odd how seldom we've landed a truly nationally top-echelon recruit at LB or DL, aside from the very, very occasional guy out of the state of Michigan.
Would big Will Campbell fit that description? So it hasnt been that long....only a year
Get me Sharrif Floyd please!
