Kareem Walker Senior Season Highlights and Bio

Submitted by BornSinner on

I noticed that a lot of the highlight reels of Walker are from his junior season, so I found a senior season video that I thought people might enjoy here. Also found a bio (avoid the first minuteish about OSU) about Walker's upbringing, football and non-football traits that was made in September.

Seems like a great kid that will fit right into Harbaugh's vision for the team.

People need to understand the NJ catholic league is stocked with D1 talent and this film is like college level film. He is making a bunch of 2-4 star recruits whiff or get run over. SO EXCITED we got Walker. How did OSU ever f-this one up? He seems like a can't miss 1st rounder if he stays healthy.

I wish they didn't slo-mo the film every time something interesting happens. Kind of makes it hard to get a feel for his quickness when you can't see the cuts in real time.

1. Denard ran upright AF

2. A lot of dudes run with tall pads (Gurley comes to mind) and make it work. Kareem has a talent that is hard to coach into someone. I hope they put muscle on his legs and teach him some finer points on blocking and route running, but other than that leave him the F alone and let his natural athleticism do work

His stats saw quite a dropoff his senior year compared to his junior year, and he looks less explosive in these highlights. I wonder if he was playing hurt his senior tear. Hus junior highlights are incredible and guys don't just forget how to be explosive.

But do you explode through the hole?  My wife keeps complaining that I don't have enough patience and vision, and I either reach the hole too early before it's completely open, or I don't time my explosion correctly and end up putting the rest of the team at a disadvantage.

There are three seniors with Divison I offers on De Paul Catholic's team, including Thiyo Lukusa (Michigan State commit), Zaire Bethea (James Madison commit), and Raees Johnson (offers from Robert Morris, Rhode Island, and Sacred Heart). And Lukusa - the best offensive lineman - transferred in this past off-season.

They had zero seniors with Divison I offers in the class of 2015.

DePaul is not the top of the NJ catholic league. Bosco, Bergen and Paramus are where the D1 talent resides. Walker racked up 7.5 ypc versus the league's best teams with an inferior OL - look at MaxPreps and he dominated most games except Paramus - the league he faces is stocked with D1 talent versus public h.s. in Michigan & Ohio. And he had a limited OL in comp ... Walker could be the next great thing.

He reminds me a lot of Derrick Henry with his upright running style and very little wasted movement. I laughed at people saying this before but he got a lot more physical from his junior year tape.

Probably the fastest to and through the hole RB on the team, right now.

Vision, topend speed and power will have to be TBD until he plays college guys. But the first point I think earns him snaps immediately.

Being a steelers fan, watching le'veon bell patiently pick a spot to then blast through the line is something I would like to see our backs do. I'm not sure if this was coached or if it's personal style, but boy does it work well.

Even dangelo Williams said he learned that patience from le'veon and you can hardly notice a drop off now that dangelo is getting the carries.
