Josh Uche is a menace (with extras)
Watching the Pats/Giants preseason game. Uche is an absolute monster. Had a sack early in the game, along with multiple pressures, including one in the redzone that directly resulted in a Daniel Jones endzone INT.
Here's hoping he keeps this momentum going into the Regular Season. With Uche and Winovich on the edge, the Pats are super fun to watch RN.

(extra) Quinn Nordin nailed a 48yd FG in the 1st half as well. He's super inconsistent (as we know), but the talent has always been there (as we also know).

The best talent a placekicker can have is consistency.

True. A huge leg is a plus, too.

I think what you mean is accuracy.

What’s wrong with putting every FG attempt 1yd right?

Precision vs. Accuracy
Both are very important in FG kicking!

Consistent accuracy.

Garrett Rivas. Not a huge leg, but he made the damn kicks. . .

I thought Nordin would've been a goner after missing those extra points in the previous game.

He only missed because someone didn’t do their job.
August 29th, 2021 at 9:01 PM ^
yeah.. him
August 29th, 2021 at 9:54 PM ^
But no QB’s were around to tell him “DO YOUR JOB!”

We got another FInkle on our hands?

NFL teams don’t have to make training camp cuts until the very end now. No reason for him to be cut even if he’s been inconsistent. The starting K has been hurt too.

Uche feels like he's poised to really break out this year. I'm not saying he's going to become a pro bowler or anything but all the buzz this offseason gives me a lot of confidence that he'll be an impact defensive player. Might not help if the QB situation remains so uneven but there's potential at least for the Pats defense to bounce back a bit from last year.

Uche was apparently doing this all through the Giants-Pats joint practices, too. Caveat that the Giants tackles are trash, but that consistency is key.

Good to see Michigan players doing well.

Kwity Paye has had a great camp in Indy and played really well on Friday, although typical caveats apply, since it was against the Loins.

Michigan players always do well... after they leave Michigan. Not being snide. It happens far too often that their true talent isn't realized until they obtain the tutelage of a better coaching staff.

At the same time, Michigan's approach to recruiting defense under Brown was to find under-the-radar guys with big upside. He only got 3-4 years with them and limited practice time.
The fact that they break out in the NFL shows that the talent evaluations were good.

Sooo if they weren’t any good at Michigan, how’d they get drafted in the first place? I know it’s popular to shit on Harbaugh and Don Brown, but they found these guys and developed them. And outside of last year, Michigan has been good… just not great.

Nico caught a TD earlier this week for the Texans

Chris Evans caught a TD pass for the Bengals today too.

Good to see someone put his speed in space.

My family is stoked watching these Michigan men put the hammer down. I must say im watching Bama highlights of Mac Jones in whole different light. Being a Michigan fan and living in New England has some perks for sure!
